@baroncoleman just dismantled the latest talking point circulating online. Some accounts are claiming the newest defense filing somehow admits Tyler Robinson is guilty or accepts the state’s version of events.

Coleman walked through the actual document and made the opposite clear. The defense is arguing that even if you take everything the state has presented as true, the evidence still fails to meet the probable cause standard on the charged elements. They are not stipulating to guilt. They are not accepting the stairwell identification as solid. They are not granting that Robinson was on the roof with a rifle or that he confessed.

Coleman pointed out a basic rule of reading these filings: start at the conclusion. The conclusion states the state has failed to prove probable cause with reliable evidence that satisfies each element of each charge. That is the opposite of a concession. Anyone telling you the defense has “admitted” Robinson did it is either incapable of reading a legal document or being deliberately dishonest.

The filing exists to show the state’s case does not clear the bar required for bind over. It concedes nothing.
