She was 27 years old.
And in her final minutes alive, she tried to comfort everyone else.
On September 11, 2001, a young woman picked up an Airfone on a hijacked plane and spoke eight words her family has carried for the rest of their lives:
“This is going to be so much harder for you than it is for me.”
Her name was Honor Elizabeth Wainio.
Everyone called her Lizz.
Two days earlier, she had been in Paris.
She had just returned from Europe — a long-anticipated trip filled with joy. She attended a friend’s wedding in Florence. She walked the Champs-Élysées. She stepped into a church and lit a candle for her grandmother.
She once told her mother that if she ever got to see Paris, she could die happy.
She was 27. A rising district manager for Discovery Channel Stores. Driven. Organized. Warm. The kind of person who lived quickly because she believed there was so much life ahead.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Lizz boarded United Airlines Flight 93 in Newark, bound for San Francisco.
There were 40 passengers and crew onboard.
At 9:28 a.m., four hijackers stormed the cockpit.
The plane violently dropped 700 feet. Screams filled the cabin. Passengers were forced to the rear of the aircraft.
But something happened on Flight 93 that changed history.
Through phone calls placed from seat-back Airfones and cell phones, passengers learned the unimaginable truth: planes had already struck the World Trade Center. The Pentagon had been hit.
This was not a hostage situation.
It was a coordinated suicide attack.
The people onboard understood before it was too late.
In the chaos, someone handed Lizz a phone.
“Call someone you love.”
She reached her stepmother, Esther.
Her voice, according to family accounts and later investigations, was steady. Clear. Not hysterical. Not broken.
She was trying to protect the person on the other end.
“It just hurts me most,” she said, “that this is going to be so much harder for you than it is for me.”
Pause there.
A 27-year-old woman, facing death at 30,000 feet, worried more about her family’s grief than her own fear.
They spoke for several minutes — about four, according to reports. They breathed together. There were no dramatic speeches. Just love carried through static.
Then Lizz said something else.
“I’m gonna be with Grandma.”
Her grandmother had lived near rural Pennsylvania — not far from where the plane would ultimately crash. Lizz could not have known that.
But in that moment, she found comfort in reunion.
At 9:57 a.m., passengers made a collective decision.
They were going to fight back.
Flight attendant Sandra Bradshaw told her husband she was boiling water to throw at the hijackers. Passenger Todd Beamer prayed the Lord’s Prayer with an operator and said words that would echo across a stunned nation:
“Let’s roll.”
Lizz’s final words came just before the counterattack began.
“They’re getting ready to break into the cockpit. I have to go. I love you. Good-bye.”
At 10:03 a.m., Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Investigators later concluded the hijackers were likely targeting either the U.S. Capitol or the White House. Because the passengers resisted, the aircraft never reached its intended target.
The 40 passengers and crew were later awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of their courage.
Today, the site is preserved as the Flight 93 National Memorial.
There stands the Tower of Voices — 40 wind chimes, each tuned to a distinct note. When the wind crosses that quiet Pennsylvania field, the chimes do not blend into one sound.
They remain separate.
Individual.
For years, Lizz’s father would call her cellphone just to hear her voicemail greeting. One day, the service was discontinued. The message was gone.
He later said losing her voice a second time felt unbearable.
At the memorial, he listens for a particular chime.
“That’s my daughter,” he says.
Honor Elizabeth Wainio’s story is not only about how she died.
It is about how she chose to live her final minutes.
She had just seen Paris. She had just lit a candle for her grandmother. She had plans. She had momentum. She had a future.
And when the worst moment imaginable arrived, she did not ask for comfort.
She gave it.
In a day remembered for smoke and terror, there were also phone calls filled with grace. There were strangers who became allies. There were ordinary people who refused to surrender quietly.
Thirty thousand feet above the earth, a young woman chose love over panic.
And because of people like her — frightened, human, brave — history shifted.
We remember her.

I moved to Dallas, packed my bags in St Louis, and landed in Dallas in July of 2001 to work for American Airlines. I signed an apartment lease, and was so happy to be starting my job with American Airlines after years with my hometown airline, Trans World Airlines. They were allowing me to bridge my years so that i didn’t lose my tenure from TWA. I loved Dallas, but missed St Louis and my family there. I was young, free and so dedicated and proud to join American Airlines. I was in my apartment one morning, getting ready for work on what started out to be a normal morning work day. I was just about 5 minutes from leaving to get into my car to drive to the office when my cell phone rang. It was a former colleague from TWA who was in St. Louis. He said, “Hey, where are you? Have you heard the news? One of your planes hit the World Trade Center. An AA plane, and United Airlines also hit the World Trade Center.” I was in complete shock. I couldn’t even believe what I was hearing. I conversed with my friend as I ran to get into my car, shaking, confused and very worried. He then said, “Oh my God, now the pentagon, a plane has hit the Pentagon”… I thought WWIII was beginning. Not a plane in the sky as all US air space was shutdown. I walked into the office at American Airlines and it was surreal, sad, and all of us were in tears staring at the TVs while news reports came flooding in. My husband (wasn’t my husband at that time and I had yet to meet him) but he was flying an aircraft back from Europe to the US and was inflight when 9/11 occurred. His story is much more interesting shocking and compelling than mine. Thankfully he was a former fighter pilot in the USAF. He prepared for the worst. He kept the passengers calm, his crew informed and prepared (he absolutely had a plan in the event his aircraft was next), and he had to divert to another city outside of the US. No one should ever, ever take what happened to our country on 9/11 for granted. Vote accordingly and protect America — it’s our country to protect, our freedom to protect, our fellow Americans to protect. Remember that the enemy is real, but we are strong. Vote red, because America is worth saving and a vote for the Democrats is a vote for terrorism.

🚨So here's the REAL story:

Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to secretly retrieve US made Stinger Missiles that the State Dept had supplied to Ansar al Sharia in Libya WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission.

Sec State Hillary Clinton had brokered the Libya deal through Ambassador Stevens and a Private Arms Dealer named Marc Turi, but some of the shoulder fired Stinger Missiles ended up in Afghanistan where they were used against our own military. On July 25th, 2012, a US Chinook helicopter was downed by one of them. Not destroyed only because the idiot Taliban didn't arm the missile. The helicopter didn't explode, but it had to land and an ordnance team recovered the missile’s serial number which led back to a cache of Stinger Missiles kept in
Qatar by the CIA.

Obama and Hillary were in full panic mode, so Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to retrieve the rest of the Stinger Missiles. This was a "do-or-die" mission, which explains the Stand Down Orders given to multiple rescue teams during the siege of the US Embassy.

It was the State Dept, NOT the CIA, that supplied the Stinger Missiles to our sworn enemies because Gen. Petraeus at CIA would not approve supplying the deadly missiles due to their potential use against commercial aircraft. So then, Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus when he refused to testify in support of Obama’s phony claim of a “spontaneous uprising caused by a YouTube video that insulted Muslims.”

THIS is what the investigation is all about, WHY she had a Private Server, (in order to delete the digital evidence), and WHY Obama, two weeks after the attack, told the UN that the attack was the result of the YouTube video, even though everyone KNEW it was not.

Furthermore, the Taliban knew that the administration had aided and abetted the enemy WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission, so they began pressuring (blackmailing) the Obama Administration to release five Taliban generals being held at Guantanamo.

Bowe Bergdahl was just a useful pawn used to cover the release of the Taliban generals. Everyone knew Bergdahl was a traitor but Obama used Bergdahl’s exchange for the five Taliban generals to cover that Obama was being coerced by the Taliban about the unauthorized Stinger Missile deal.

So we have a traitor as POTUS that is not only corrupt, but compromised, as well and a Sec of State that is a serial liar, who perjured herself multiple times at the Congressional Hearings on Benghazi. Perhaps this is why no military aircraft were called upon for help in Benghazi: because the administration knew that our enemies had Stinger Missiles that, if used to down those planes, would likely be traced back to the CIA cache in Qatar and then to the State Dept’s illegitimate arms deal in Libya.

Forward this again and again and again until everyone reads the true story of Benghazi.
