UK banks blocked almost £1 billion in lawful Bitcoin and crypto payments at one exchange in a single year.

The overall picture isn’t much better:

- 40% of transfers blocked or delayed
- 80% of exchanges say it’s getting worse
- Half of firms can’t open or keep bank accounts
- 70% say UK banking is more hostile

These are lawful payments, including transfers to FCA registered platforms.

Banks still lump Bitcoin in with the riskiest parts of crypto.

Bitcoin is not crypto. It has:

- No CEO
- No issuer
- No company controlling it
- Fixed supply
- Decentralised global network

@bitcoinpolicyuk is calling for an end to blanket restrictions, proper risk-based decisions, and a clear reason plus a real route of appeal when a payment is blocked.

This has been getting worse for years.

So much for the UK’s ambition to be a global crypto hub.

- Tariffs continuing to destroy markets (tariffs are extremely - EV for world trade)
- Europe banding together to fight Russia with Ukraine
- BITCOIN RECOGNIZED AS A STRATEGIC RESERVE CURRENCY OF THE US

I don't think crypto is at the top of the US administrations bucket list right now, with global tariffs & war which will likely be the main focus for the upcoming months

However, the network effect of Bitcoin has never been stronger, countries adopting, corporations adopting, ETFs are here

Dear European “leaders”, although Hungary has been the only country that has consistanly stood for peace in the EU, we didn’t intend to discuss this publicly. But that works just as well.

Hungary's position is that direct negotiations with Russia must begin immediately in order to achieve a ceasefire and lasting peace.
