I #WearOrange today to honor those whose lives have been lost to gun violence, including hundreds every year in this city. Through the Philadelphia Obituary Project, I tell stories to shed light on the lives of homicide victims. https://t.co/E1Hb2FCUka
It's been a year since we've launched CODE PA, our Commonwealth's own in-house tech start up.
This team is doing so much great work to improve your online experience and save taxpayer dollars doing it. As CODE PA's Executive Director Bry says, we're not slowing down any time soon and we're going to continue to deliver for Pennsylvanians.
So much exciting work is ahead! I'm really thrilled to be a new member of the CODE PA team.
Bry said it best: “there’s just there’s no shortage of opportunity for us to have some fun.”

Shocked and saddened by Josh Kruger’s death. He cared deeply about our city and its residents, which was evident in his public service and writing.
Our administration was fortunate to call him a colleague, and our prayers are with everyone who knew him. https://t.co/dnRxQ0Ic3W
Thank you to everyone who has followed and supported Judy throughout her lifetime of advocacy. May her memory be for a blessing.

The Gun Violence Memorial Project in DC is a powerful, heartbreaking tribute to victims of gun violence. The exhibit features four houses made of 700 glass bricks. Each house represents the average number of lives taken by gun violence in a week in America. 🧵
Saturday night in Philadelphia. A mass shooting on 4th & South Street with reports of nearly a dozen people shot. I’m on scene where police have cordoned off the popular weekend strip, a trail of what appears to be blood snaking along the sidewalk in front of a Rita’s Water Ice.
NEW: We’ve ranked all 50 states on the strength of their gun laws—and compared those rankings with each state’s rate of gun violence. The result is clear: The stronger a state’s gun safety laws, the fewer people die by gun violence.
This is the kind of stuff that makes my head spin. Just take Simon Gratz High School as an example of how mind boggling this all is. A 14 year old can expect to lose roughly 10-20 peers by the time they graduate. That’s wild and should be unacceptable to all of us. Period.
A trick or treater dressed as Gritty just visited my house. As he walked by, after receiving multiple compliments for his costume, he said “I’m like a celebrity, this is so great!”
It’s been six months since the Atlanta spa shootings where eight people were killed, including six Asian women. National Advisory Board member Jeannie She asked her fellow Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) peers to reflect in 88 words or less.

“In my life, more friends have died from gun violence than I care to count. I’m involved in this work because I have to do something productive with the grief.” - Erricka Bridgeford, founder of Baltimore Ceasefire 365

I traveled to @BuildingMuseum with two Philly moms who lost sons to gun violence to visit @gunviolencemem. It was an emotional day none of us will soon forget. The exhibit is free. Find your way to it. https://t.co/4EMLpXY5Aq
