@CAASCO it has been 11 hours waiting for a tow. If we had not been initially denied service for have a large vehicle for #WheelchairAccess, our van would have been fixed already. #Ableist assumptions that all large vans are commercial
@CAA waiting 5 hours for a tow only to be told that our van is too big is not okay. Not all big vans are used commercially. #disabled families use them for access to basic necessities. Please rethink your new policies instead of denying service to disabled members. #ableism
@ONTSpecialNeeds Disagree whole heartedly with point #1. Many disabled children (and adults) listen best when their sensory needs are being met, not when all of their energy is being spent on meeting unrealistic positional expectations
@HamHealthSci $5.49 for a sandwich is not helping caregivers stay healthy when their loved one is in the ED or admitted. Access to affordable and nutritious food for caregivers needs to improve
@jvipondmd Despite our best efforts-no indoor events, almost no shopping, no visitors indoors, N95 with head straps at all times only, eating in a room alone with a HEPA filter when at school, my teen brought Covid home from school.
NORD says children with #PCH2A “are severely handicapped with no voluntary motor function”. Patients with #PontocerebellarHypoplasia are given no hope of a meaningful quality of life. Damien is 28 years old. The pile of toys on the floor is evidence of voluntary motor function
@mch_childrens Where are outpatient clinics normally running out of 2G being held? The idea of exposing a vulnerable child to a room full of sick children to access routine care is terrifying.
So far Covid has not been mild.
It has been fevers, coughing, respiratory treatments,a 90 minute seizure(2 hours after symptoms began),an active little boy who has not really woken up 9 hours and trauma. Kept him safe for 1014 days #coronavirus#CovidIsNotOver
@unlearn16tweet “Thank you for thinking of people like me.” “That girl obviously cares about how other people feel”. We were able to finish the video and have a good discussion
@DGBassani This is going to send me down a rabbit hole of figuring out if some of our PCH2A friends have been spared from severe disease because of their daily medication managing dystonia
