🇪🇪🇺🇦 This is Kaja Kallas.

She was born in Tallinn in 1977 into a family that knew exactly what Russian occupation meant.

When Kaja’s mother was just six months old, Soviet authorities deported her family to Siberia. They spent years in exile before finally being allowed to return to Estonia.

Kallas grew up with that history.

She became a lawyer, entered politics, served in the European Parliament, and in 2021 became Estonia’s first female prime minister.

Then Russia invaded Ukraine.

And unlike many Western politicians who suddenly discovered Russia on February 24, 2022, Kallas never needed anyone to explain what Moscow was capable of.

Under her leadership, tiny Estonia became one of Ukraine’s strongest supporters. Its military assistance eventually exceeded 1% of the country’s GDP.

Her logic was brutally simple: every Russian weapon destroyed in Ukraine is one less weapon that can someday be used against Estonia.

Some people learn about Russian imperialism from books.

Kaja Kallas inherited the lesson from her own family.

I paid tribute to the warriors who fell defending and liberating the village of Moshchun. It is both important and right to honour the heroes who protected the Kyiv region and our entire state.

Counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the south could disrupt Russia’s spring–summer offensive - ISW.

As I’ve said repeatedly, Ukraine would survive the winter assault. Russia was always going to prepare another spring offensive despite the so-called ‘peace negotiations’ , which haven’t even produced a ceasefire.

Russia could stop this war at any time. That’s something we should always remember and now Ukrainian counterattacks in the south are beginning to challenge Russia’s offensive momentum.

Today, people are saying their final goodbye to Mariia and her children, Kamila and Nazarchyk, whom Russia killed on November 19.

Only Kamal, their father, survived in the apartment.
