Rep. Thomas Massie walked onto the House floor without telling anybody in his own leadership and introduced 34 pages of articles of impeachment against the secretary of defense, which makes him the first member of Congress to try to remove a cabinet official from his own party. A federal judge blocked Trump from putting his name on the front of the Kennedy Center for the second time, and Trump responded by announcing that the renovation of the building will not happen at all unless an appeals court reverses the ruling. The president spent the day trying to get as far away from his own son as possible, telling reporters he has never heard of the Russian oligarch who paid for the party, while Melania put out a statement distancing herself and defending nobody. And the Washington Post revealed that ICE hired 12,000 people so fast it skipped the background checks, and is now quietly firing recruits over problems that were sitting in their files the whole time.
