With ~50% of seaborne sulfur trade disrupted by the Hormuz crisis, Canada is cashing in. Oil-sands byproduct sulfur from Alberta is now a global swing supply — Vancouver exports hitting records, prices more than doubling, and buyers from Morocco to Asia scrambling for Canadian tonnes. Quiet winner of the shock. Just ask @sohaibab9
I'm sure my followers know I own a business in Canada :
Over 20 consultants have pitched me since August, offering to claim government tariff relief on my business’s behalf.
They take 15-20% off the top of funds meant to keep Canadian businesses afloat (where 50% is forgiven and 50% paid back).
We’ve built a system where government complexity creates a whole consultant class profiting off trade pain.
Why do we tolerate this setup?

I don’t often quote Conrad Black, but he hits the mark here: “90% of Canadians live within two hundred miles of the U.S. border and 75% speak the same language. @CanadianPM Carney is trying to lead us on a historic journey; he won’t achieve it by self-impoverishment.”🎯
Ray Dalio said the quiet part about the AI trade on Bloomberg.
A $1B valuation isn't $1B of money. Someone put in $50M, the market marked it to a billion, and now it counts as "wealth." But you can't spend wealth - you have to sell it first.
That's the trap: a mountain of paper valuations sitting on a puddle of actual cash. Bubbles don't burst because the story dies - they burst the moment everyone reaches for money at once. And the exit only fits so many.
The vig? The house books your paper gains as real, right up until you try to withdraw them.
The Atlantic is having its quietest hurricane season in at least 60 years, with no hurricanes by mid-September.
Strangely, the climate activists and headline writers who amplify every active season have little to say. One quiet season does not disprove climate change, just as one severe storm does not prove it.
Weather deserves context, not activism.
Canada Has Been Offered Associate Membership In The European Union
Prime Minister Carney desire to identify as a "European" seems to be coming true
- Nobody really knows what this means: there are no details yet
- If it's mainly about Trade please understand we have CETA

The sad truth is that anywhere between one-third and 40% of the country will go along with whatever the Liberals do, no matter how contemptuous it is of our democracy? I struggle to think of any other western democracy that functions this way. But the band plays on...
Mark Carney could not be more out of touch.
With Canadians missing meals and mortgage payments, and days before he addresses the European Parliament (instead of the Canadian Parliament) we learn in a foreign newspaper of secret talks to make Canada an "Associate Member" of the European Union.
This is not about diversifying trade: we have had tariff-free trade with Europe for over a decade. They would buy more of our goods today if the Liberal government would get out of the way and permit mines, pipelines, LNG plants to produce and ship them.
Canadians deserve answers: Is the WSJ report true about associate membership in the EU?
If so, will European border policies apply in Canada, further overwhelming our immigration system while our youth can’t find homes?
Will Canadian waitresses struggling with rent have to pay tax dollars to the bloated EU bureaucracy?
Will Canadian small businesses be buried under the red tape of Eurocrats that have never met a Canadian entrepreneur?
All questions I’d ask in Parliament, but it is shuttered.
And one more: who decides for Canada?
The Welland welder did not elect a Eurocrat to regulate our steel. The Saskatchewan farmer and the Atlantic fisherman did not choose a Brussels agrifood regulator that has never even seen our prairies or coasts.
We will NEVER be the 51st U.S. state. And we will NEVER be the 28th EU state.
We are Canadians. This is our home, our freedom, our sovereignty, our people.
Now and forever.
The Houthis just struck Saudi Arabia's key oil pipeline.
Mainstream media is silent, but NASA satellite images are clear.
And 7% of the world's oil supply goes through that pipe.
What happened + how it affects the West: 👇
"It is very telling when a prime minister declares that we are at war with the world’s largest economy, yet refuses to answer questions from the media or recall Parliament—and few political columnists even raise the issue."
Dr. Ian Lee explains the big picture of the 🇨🇦-🇺🇸 trade war.
1⃣ China is the 🇺🇸 main target. The rest of the world, including 🇨🇦, is caught in the crossfire.
2⃣ China is annihilating world markets, especially the EU. Europe is in such steep decline that Lee reluctantly concludes that they will have to tariff China to save themselves. This is why the 🇺🇸 imposed tariffs.
3⃣ Innovation & growth is exploding in the 🇺🇸 while the EU has stagnated. 🇨🇦 pivoting away from the 🇺🇸 towards the EU is madness.
For more details on the big picture, read the 🇺🇸 National Security Strategy document.

At the WNA, I spoke to someone with a lot of experience when it comes to buying uranium
He noted that, even more than last year, the mindset of utilities went from "at what price is supply available" to "We want to make sure we even get the supply we want"
Prices will go higher
Let's applaud something done right for a change.
Ontario has completed the major refurbishment of all four reactors at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, four months ahead of schedule and C$150 million under its C$12.8 billion budget. The project secures 3,512 MW of generating capacity for at least another 30 years.
OPG confirms the final reactor returned to full power in March 2026 and the entire project closed four months early and C$150 million under budget. Ontario Power Generation The final project-performance report independently states the same schedule and budget figures.
HE NAILS IT. Finally some common sense!
Canada's Ian Lee (One of Canada's brightest) absolutely nails it today! Agree 100%.
Says its the privileged public sector calling for this trade war - they have nothing to lose. And its emotional.
"an awful lot of people's jobs are on the line!"
Says he doesn't even know if "sovereignty was on the table" because hes never seen the deal!
FINALLY - Common sense is starting to pierce through the emotion. This is what we need right now!
Happy to have @iancassel once again as one of our keynote speakers. I still feel to this day, this speach he gave at our conference in 2017 was the best I've ever heard in the in the smallcap/microcap space. Investing is Hard https://t.co/kRlJaLvGnW
