@HowieRose I’ll take Pete’s for the reasons mentioned. If given a third choice I’d go with Lindor’s9th inning HR v. Atlanta in game 161. Neither of the other two happen otherwise. Missing the playoffs would’ve been devastating. No telling if they win game 162.
@DannyAbriano That 2006 team had solid vets throughout the lineup, two dynamic young players coming into their own, a HOF centerfielder and a guy named Pedro who still had a lot of gas left in the tank. No comparison other than a rookie manager who came over from the Yankees
@mike5_5_5 Yes. But they chose the better pitcher at the time. No one knew he would be hurt for all eternity. Wheeler never pitched like this for us; sometimes you need to ride out the better prospect until he comes into his own, just like they probably should’ve done with Travis.
