@EasterbrookG Neither teachers nor parents should have ‘unabridged sovereignty over other peoples’ children.’ How does GW see the curriculum (for all) being set? It isn’t clear. But it is easier to criticize ‘progressives’ and to argue for school choice than it is to propose good solutions.
@EasterbrookG I’m not sure how out-of-the-park devastating it is. As usual, GW is a master rhetorician. But the logic doesn’t keep up. Example: He suggests without explaining that the decline in proficiency as education progresses is shocking, without noting that benchmarks change.
@EasterbrookG Or again. He derides ‘progressives’ for asserting ‘unabridged sovereignty over other peoples’ children’. It’s a lovely phrase. But what? There are problems with the curriculum. But there are (or are supposed to be) mechanisms to refine it or fix it.
@EasterbrookG I miss TMQ.
I remember some kind of survey asking if I'd be willing to pay for it -- totally -- but I don't remember what came of that. Anyone else?
