Coercion over Freedom: Production requires state permits or official approval from bureaucrats who do not create anything themselves.

Cronyism: Wealth moves through political favors, bribery, and influence instead of honest market value and trade.

Inverted Justice: The legal system protects wrongdoers or corrupt officials from the citizens rather than protecting citizens from crime.

Moral Decay: Acting with honesty becomes a personal disadvantage or sacrifice, making the society unsustainable.

In 2004, the BBC warned the Maldives were "soon to be uninhabitable," claiming sea levels were rising 0.9 cm per year and that 80% of the islands could vanish within a century.

More than two decades later, though, reality says otherwise. The Maldives haven't sunk, they've exploded with growth: 12 new airports, expanded international terminals, record tourism of over 2 million visitors a year, and more than 170 resorts.

Instead of drowning, this so-called "paradise in peril" has shown no statistically significant sea level rise since the 1980s, according to satellite data.

Here we have another climate catastrophe headline completely undone by time.

The doomsaying climate modellers completely missed the biggest transformation of the Earth's ecosystem in the last thirty years.

Wait: it's worse than that. They predicted exactly the opposite of what has happened.

Britain's "flagship" floating wind project just sold for £1.

In 2022, TwinHub was hailed as a watershed moment for British floating wind. The 32 MW project became the first floating wind development in England to secure a government-backed Contract For Difference.

It received 15 years of government-backed support at a very generous £87 per MWh.

Developers said it would power 45,000 homes and help launch an entirely new British industry.

Four years later, though, inflation and soaring supply chain costs destroyed the original economics.

Developer Hexicon wrote down the project by £10.5 million, the government-backed contract was terminated, and the company sold the entire project, including its assets and liabilities, for £1.

The "flagship" of Britain's floating wind future was sold for the price of a supermarket trolley deposit.

Average global temperatures were a full 2°C warmer during the last interglacial period, 130,000 to 115,000 years ago.

There was no evidence of any climate warming crisis in the geological record.

This was the Eemian interglacial—the warm period between ice ages—and it stayed at least 2°C warmer than the current Holocene interglacial for 10,000 years.

Biological life expanded northwards into the polar regions. African large fauna—hippos, lions and crocodiles—flourished in the then semi-tropical Thames Valley at the heart of Britain. Life thrived, despite CO₂ levels being considerably lower than today, at 285 ppm.

Modern levels range from 369 ppm in 2000 to 426 ppm by 2026. These higher CO₂ levels have generated the greatest expansion of green leaf area in recorded history, according to NASA satellite studies.

Food production (grains, vegetables, and fruits) has jumped 35–40%, even on intensively farmed lands. Around 70% of this regeneration is attributed to increasing levels of atmospheric CO₂, rising from 369 ppm at the turn of the century.

This should raise serious doubts about the global disruption of a climate emergency declared by the United Nations. This fear campaign was used to progressively seek the dismantling of hydrocarbon fuels and replace them with intermittent wind-solar 'renewable' energy.

But after 35 years, the dependable trio of coal, oil and gas still provide 81% of global primary power; wind-solar about 6%. These largely experimental renewable structures are not comparable with the global power grid. Rebuilding a second parallel grid will cost $21 trillion (McKinsey Global, 2022).

The UN has driven a slick PR campaign, warning of numerous impending crises, from coastal cities being underwater, to droughts, flooding and famine. None have occurred. By the year 2030, millions of people were expected to face forced migration to escape a burning climate. This is now a highly unlikely scenario.

The Eemian is a standout example of the variability and benefits of a warmer world with higher CO₂. It reflects the huge successes of food produced in greenhouse environments, where CO₂ levels are boosted to around 1,250 ppm to maximise food production.

Today's global temperatures are estimated to have risen by 1.4°C in the 250 years since the start of the Industrial Revolution - ultimately powered by coal, oil and gas.

"There is no climate emergency."

That's the message from over 2,000 scientists and professionals worldwide, including Nobel laureate John Clauser, MIT's Richard Lindzen and Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne Ian Plimer.

They all say climate science has become too political and that the models behind global policy are flawed.

"Warming is far slower than predicted," they assert.

"CO2 is not pollution, it's plant food, the basis of all life on earth."

And there's zero evidence that hurricanes, floods or droughts are worsening.

'The World Climate Declaration,' led by the Global Climate Intelligence Group, calls for science over panic, and prosperity through reliable, affordable energy.

"There is no climate emergency," say more than 2,000 scientists.

The talk around Net Zero ignores many inconvenient facts, but top of the list is probably the mining requirements to get us there.

For the world to reach Net Zero by 2050--that is, to build the solar panels and wind turbines required--we'd need to mine over 4.5 billion tons of copper, 940 million tons of nickel, 9 billion tons of graphite and 4 million tons of germanium.

At today's mining rates that would take more than a thousand years.

Net Zero is nigh on impossible to achieve.

And even attempting to do so will ravage vast areas of the planet.

There is a hint of delicious irony to all this.

China currently manufactures 80% of the world’s solar panels, 75–80% of all batteries, 60–65% of wind turbine parts and 55% of global crude steel.

This staggering modern-day success story represents the largest, quietest transfer of industrial might and power in human history.

China's manufacturing grunt is more than the next 15 countries combined—larger than the US, EU and Japan together. To power this industrial onslaught, China commissions around six state-of-the-art coal plants a month (50–80 GW a year).

It operates over 1,200 coal plants totaling 1,271 GW—more than half the world’s total capacity. Its coal mining fleet is four times larger than second-place India.

As a result, China’s share of global manufacturing grew from 6% to 30% since 2000. Meanwhile, America’s plunged like a lead balloon from 25% to around 12%, and Europe’s collapsed from 25% to around 14%.

How? China uses abundant, reliable coal power, refuses to bind itself to net-zero, and has leadership that treats factories and steel mills as critical assets—unlike the West.

In geopolitical terms, this should be a lightning rod across the decaying West. But the job on the West is just about done, and the Western green transition is now almost entirely dependent on hardware manufactured by China.

This rise to dizzy heights was only made possible by using the same demonised dense fossil fuel energy that has already sent the Western world spiralling into a brackish, foul-tasting, latter-day mediaeval backwater.

It should be the biggest, loudest, and most outrageous news story in the Western world—but it hardly rates a mention.

A peer-reviewed study finds that most of the temperature rise observed over the past century in the US isn't from greenhouse gases, but instead from roads, buildings and parking lots.

By comparing raw US temperature data from stations in areas with different population densities, the study found that 65% of the warming since 1895 is explained by the urban heat island effect, and another 8% by urban growth into once-rural areas.

That's nearly three quarters of the warming, with no CO2 involved.

Crucially, NOAA's adjusted data hides this effect. Homogenization smooths it out, a process the study's author, Dr Roy Spencer, calls "urban blending."

It's not "global warming," it's urbanization.
