My 7 year old said he doesn’t feel any different on his ADHD meds — after giving us the easiest day of our lives. That is a whole new level of audacity. But it also taught me something important:
THE 7 STAGES OF AN ADHD PERSON DECIDING TO DECLUTTER.
I got to stage 5 on Sunday and the living room hasn't recovered.
Stage 1: righteous energy. Today the whole apartment. Maybe the balcony too.
Setting two:
physically unable to move a folded blanket from the couch to the shelf.
For nine days. It has become load-bearing.Setting one:
learning the complete history of a country you'll never visit, in one sitting, uninvited.
Setting two:
the two-line email, week four, growing interest.
ADHD HAS EXACTLY TWO SETTINGS
There is no dial. There was never a dial.
Setting one:
reorganizing the entire kitchen at 11 PM because the spice shelf looked at you wrong.
1. Someone else's crisis activates everything. Your brain has urgency, emotional stakes, a clear role, and someone who needs you. All four activation conditions hit simultaneously. You are sharp, present, and completely capable. The appointment for yourself has none of those things. It sits on a list for seven months.
ADHD is hyperfocusing on someone else's pain at 2am like a trained professional and not being able to schedule your own doctor's appointment for seven months.
nobody warned me that the most exhausting thing about ADHD isn't the chaos. it's performing normal for so long that you forget what actually feels like you.
DARK PSYCHOLOGY
1- A person who stays silent during arguments is usually the one who understands manipulation the best.
2- Someone who apologizes too quickly is often afraid of being abandoned.
The man who love bombs you in the first month and the man who’s obsessed with you in the very first month look exactly the same. And the only true way to tell them apart is to tell him no and watch what he does.
Because truthfully: 1/4
1. Do I start imagining a future the moment someone shows interest?
Sometimes your heart creates an entire story before you’ve had enough time to understand who the person actually is. 2/12
I used to think I was falling in love quickly.
Then I realized…
Sometimes, I wasn’t falling for the person.
I was falling for the attention, the possibility, and the way they made me feel.
If you get emotionally attached too quickly, ask yourself these 10 questions: 1/12
I’ve noticed that when a guy is genuinely obsessed with you, you will 10000% feel it. That's because he will show one very specific green flag. And no, it’s not about buying flowers or taking you on aesthetic dates. It literally all comes down to this one bare minimum thing: 1/4
No one talks about how deeply damaging dealing with men actually is. How men leave women with severe lifelong mental health issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, depression, anxiety, thousands in therapy bills, hyper vigilance, a fried nervous system, a loss of ability to feel joy or pleasure from activities that used to make you happy, even music sounds different. You lose your appetite.
But men leave completely unaffected, no consequences, or remorseful thoughts about you. 1/2
The meanest thing the ADHD brain does is run the things you love on the same broken switch as the things you dread.
I adore my friend. I'd marry the gym. And ADHD flips the same flat "no" on both. It took me years to understand why wanting it never mattered.
BDSM ARCHETYPES: LET’S TALK ABOUT THE MASOCHIST. 🖤
If the sadist gets stereotyped as “I just wanna hurt somebody,” the masochist gets stereotyped as “I just wanna be hurt.”
And psychologically?
It’s a lot more interesting than that.
A consensual masochist may experience erotic pleasure from pain, discomfort, intensity, humiliation, restraint, vulnerability, or surrender.
But the pain itself isn’t necessarily the whole point.
Sometimes it’s the intensity.
Sometimes it’s letting go. 1/6
Narcissistic abuse is psychological violence.
Don’t agree with that?
Here’s the damage long-term gaslighting and narcissistic abuse typically leave behind. ⤵️⤵️⤵️
BREAKING: Scientists confirm that many adults with ADHD end up using chronic anxiety as their main activation system.
Cortisol and stress hormones become the fuel that finally gets tasks started.
The body was never designed to run on that chemistry long-term.
6. The underachievement is not a capability gap. It is a regulation gap. And regulation gaps have buildable solutions that intelligence alone never provides.
