I saw Patti Smith in Brooklyn last night and witnessed this legendary exchange:
Man in Audience: tell us a story!
Patti: tell you a story? You inspire nothing.
Patti: Sorry, I like insulting men.
โTrans men are menโ and โtrans men and cis men experience masculinity and manhood differently than and neither one is more true than the other.โ are two statements that can be true at the same time
Mormons are really out here hating on trans people for choosing a new name and living in the world as their actual gender when they go into a temple and let some random man assign them a secret name they think theyโll be called in the afterlife on their own planet.
@beltanetattoo The line work and shading is phenomenal, these asswipes clearly donโt know what theyโre talking about and I wish I was closer to your shop so I could get a piece by you!
Iโve gotta stop picking up novels with dogs in them thinking itโs going to help me unwind from a long day in vet med. thatโs on me, I see that now.
"Democratization of Art" is a sinister phrase because it manufactures aggrievement. It tells people that artists are hoarding unearned power, and that our displacement through AI is morally justified.
We'll say it again โ repeating what @jessiegender said that got under JK Rowling's skin: you can still enjoy your *old* Harry Potter stuff, if done considerately (and privately), but it's inappropriate to buy, consume, stream, or play any new HP product while JKR benefits.
