🚨🐺Just wrapped up a project analyzing our player's actions vs usage rates (how much a player has the ball)
📈This allows us to see how productive each player is and what kind of players we need
📌Wanted to share what I found in this thread:

@Iouback@DataFutebol could just vibe code some python script that consistently scrapes the number parts of these pdfs (since all games are in a similar format) into an updated local spreadsheet/database and manually run them thru every match pdf before manipulating them however u want urself
@ConceptScouting i get hudl wyscout via work and have to export data manually bc apparently even the api is considered an add on (so r like a bunch of other things) and not part of the package and we already pay a lot from what i heard
@Furymaker_@ConceptScouting yeah met with their representatives a while back looked like theyre tryna have an ecosystem for every type of sporting data you could possible get and was selling a bunch of add ons or new competing products like their version of video equipment and catapult etc
@ZinhoUtd@dataxfoot Also want to note that the 1000 isn’t just pl so if the player transferred into the prem somewhere during this time range their non prem stats would count too
@ZinhoUtd@dataxfoot Not just this season but a little of the last as well. So as of march 16 2026 to a year back in mar 17 2025 . Sorry for the confusion
🇳🇴🇳🇬Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare among the least progressive, but that makes sense (xG rather than progression)
📈Lastly, Krejci, Santiago Bueno, and Agbadou account for 29% of total progressive actions

🐺🛡️Possessions Disrupted: Recent Center Backs
🇺🇾Santiago Bueno: very efficient (4.01)
🇧🇷Similar rates to Andre
📉Current CBs: Decreasing trend in defensive efficiency, towards bottom of chart (same case as wing backs)

📈📊🐺How has progression and usage changed under Rob Edwards?
⏩Breaking down this season's progressive efficiency, and how our backline dominates these metrics

📊Usage (possession ending actions) is evenly distributed when compared to before Rob Edwards...
However a few small outliers:
⬆️Highest usage: Mateus Mane, Fer Lopez
⬇️Lowest usage: Santiago Bueno, Andre

🇵🇹Rodrigo Gomes tops the list with the most shots per 90. At 2.24, 0.86 are on target.
⌛️Only played 381 mins, but still a good indicator. He tops several other attacking metrics as well.
Will be analyzing progression soon.

📊🐺This is a testament to Mateus Mané's efficiency and impact on the squad
💎Obviously there are other aspects to his game...
📌...but a lot can be said just by breaking down the season's shooting funnel so far in this thread:
#WWFC | #Wolves | (1/6)
#wwfc | Mané
Not a great day for Wolves, but like quite often since his breakthrough, Mané was the shining light for Wolves today.
His bravery and positivity stood out against one of the very best teams today and that’s only give the new star boy even more belief & confidence.
As well as his talent, his desire to help the team off the ball and his energy until the very end was also impressive.
Well played, again.
🇪🇸However, Fer Lopez is among the most "inefficient". Of 1.87 shots per 90, only 0.23 are on target.
➡️Granted that's because he barely played (235 mins), but either way his progression is where he usually stands out.

📊🐺Could Fer Lopez or Bellegarde potentially be...
"All Phase" players?
🤝Huge thanks to @ctwwfc for inspiring this post
