Most Drafts, maybe 80-90%, Malonga is no-brainer top pick. A grade as a defensive prospect & rare physical tools. Probably A- offensive grade. All-Star ceiling.
But 2025 Draft had Paige. This is what A+ offensive grade gets you. Dallas Wings take flight for a decade around her.
Paige Bueckers' 44 points tonight vs. the Sparks are:
-the most points in a game by a rookie in WNBA history
-the most points in a game by any player this season
-the first 40-piece in league history on 80% FG

More a powerhouse forward in college. But I'm seeing Asinde improved her skill creation and overall timing, a lot more refined offensive package, 18 months after UTEP. She was a training camp cut by Atlanta Dream in May but could make a W roster in 2026
On the one hand, Asinde turns 26 later this year and lacks WNBA experience after leaving NCAA in 2024.
On the other hand, she is peaking in international competition, with even better production than in her senior year at UTEP (16.5 points & 8.7 rebounds per game).
INBOX: TNT Sports has reached a multi-year extension with Candace Parker, one of the most decorated basketball players of all-time, for an expanded role across its basketball portfolio. The three-time WNBA Champion and two-time WNBA MVP will continue as an analyst for TNT Sports and CBS Sports’ NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship coverage, a position she’s held since 2019.
Additionally, Parker – a two-time National Player of the Year at Tennessee – will expand her college sports commentating duties to include serving as an analyst for TNT Sports’ inaugural seasons of BIG EAST men’s and women’s basketball and Big 12 men’s basketball. Parker will also continue as a lead studio analyst for TNT Sports’ coverage of Unrivaled. She will also continue to contribute to Bleacher Report and its B/R W platform.
“I’m grateful to keep doing what I love with my TNT Sports family,” said Parker. “Getting to cover the Big EAST, Big 12, March Madness, and now Unrivaled — it all means a lot. These moments are special, and I don’t take any of it for granted.” @Winsidr
NHL Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon has agreed to buy the Portland Trail Blazers from the estate of Paul G. Allen for a valuation of over $4 billion, sources tell ESPN.
A lot of meat on the bone here. Important reporting from @AnnieCostabile on the business considerations for the WNBA re: the looming Connecticut Sun relocation.
Updates on Connecticut Sun sale, per @AnnieCostabile:
- Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca's offer "stalled" because commissioner Engelbert never presented it to WNBA board of governors
- Former Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry matched Pagliuca's $325M offer; wants to move team to Hartford, CT
- Houston is WNBA's preferred landing spot for Sun
- WNBA would "favor" a deal with Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta if he is willing to match sale price and pay relocation fee
