MLB owners have threatened to cancel baseball in April because they know a month of missed games won't meaningfully impact their bottom line.
Meanwhile, 40,000 minimum wage stadium workers will start losing paychecks as soon as one day of baseball is canceled.
Just shameful.
I think baseball clubs should be publicly traded, owners forced to divest, and public shareholders (who would be fans) should dictate how baseball teams interact with players.
I don’t think MLB owners, and yes, MLBPA constituents, realize the economic effects beyond team profitability & player contracts that this tragic resolution will cause. Those that depend on the sport to make a living are the real ones who suffer. Lost paychecks for working people

2021: ongoing pandemic, full season, limited fans for half season, division champions.
2022: lockout, games cancelled.
Ultimate loser: fans
