i found out about cmd+clicking tabs in firefox not long ago, and it's pretty much my favourite thing: cmd+click a few tabs, right click, close multiple tabs -> close other tabs 👌

Electron in @1Password 8 is SO frustrating!

I love the UX but the most important part of a pw manager BY FAR is security & compromising on that by adding the attack surface of the whole web platform is simply not an option.

Any suggestion for good alternatives?

@koterpillar @1Password @Bitwarden i pay for @Bitwarden already to support the project, but before i start using it in earnest, it needs TouchID. i just can’t get around typing my password/pin every time i unlock!

@braz @1Password @dteare Unfortunately, reading @dteare’s responses today, he is choosing not to hear the complaints of his users. He fails to see that no matter how good an electron app you make, it will *never* be as good as a well written native app. And he has (had?) a good Mac development team.

i really like @WatchNebula, but holy hell it almost never works on Apple TV! videos just saying “can’t play”, or like right now just showing a black screen with a red NOPE 🚫 icon in the track bar

infuriating!

Can't decide how I feel abt EC2 image builder: On one hand its cool that it "just works" (as much as anything w/ IAM complexity just works), on the other hand wow is it SLOW

Still, it's a great tool to have even for just bootstrapping a golden AMI so that you can use Packer/etc

there is nothing good about @PrimeVideo ... the UI is clunky, you still have to play for plenty of content, ads at the start of videos, can’t purchase content in the app, weirdly splitting seasons up to look like different shows, the “last watched” feature not working properly...

SSM is a useful tool, but denying SSH as an org policy is not useful. SSH is a general purpose tool that's used by a lot of other software, and SSM is not a drop-in replacement. SSH is just considered to be part of your toolkit, like grep/less/readline

im also interested in a firefox extension, but not _nearly_ as much as those other 2 features; theyd elevate bumpr from "it's okay i guess" to an invaluable day to day tool

2 things i want out of @getbumpr:

custom browser rules should work even if you have "activate only with shift+click" enabled (and you don't shift click; eg firefox by default with no interaction, google meet in chrome)

support for firefox profiles
