I agree they shouldn't have. But that's not how life works. You dont just roll over and give up. Only pathetic pansies do.
They were screwed over. They had the majority of the nation on their side. They decided to cry about it and sit out instead of make a statement.
They lost the empathy of the nation and now everyone will remember the 2023 FSU team as a joke that never deserved to be in the playoffs.
Most of the nation sees them as a joke because they pussied out and sat out of their bowl game.
They had a chance to make a statement. To play for pride. And to show that they deserved to be in the playoffs. Prove the haters wrong.
Instead they cried like witches. Lost the sympathy of the country. And they got blown out. Forver to be known as a joke.
@CougSportsMedia BYU's only offensive weapon the last two games was Bachmeier.
Yes there were 10 other players on the field with him the last two games, but byu's offense is one guy.
Everyone without blue colored glasses had been saying the same thing all week.
@JoshPateCFB If we thought players opting out of bowl games were bad, we're going to see players sit rivalry games and other end of season games in order to be healthy for the playoffs.
@holeymoleynoley@CarolinaHODL21m@CenTexLib Your second point is EXACTLY why they should have played. To prove everyone wrong.
Who's the dumbass here? You just proved yourself wrong.
@holeymoleynoley@CarolinaHODL21m@CenTexLib You may think its stupid. But they're considered a joke nationally now. Crying about being left out of the playoffs and then being bodied by Georgia.
They have no sympathy from the rest of the country because of that.
@holeymoleynoley@CarolinaHODL21m@CenTexLib They should have played for pride. They deserved to be in the playoffs and they got snubbed. Make a statement.
Now the entire nation thinks that FSU team is a joke and FSU has been trash ever since.
@CarolinaHODL21m@CenTexLib FSU lost the argument when they had 30+ players sit out. They should have played their hardest and left no doubt. They should have made a statement.
Now they're remembered by the rest of the nation as a joke.
You're missing the argument. People are saying the BCS era is better than it is now. Not that it was perfect. That's why the 4 team playoff eventually became a thing.
In the BCS era, bowl season was awesome. Each team that got picked for a BCS game felt like they won the national championship and every team that was bowl eligible was stoked to go.
The best format would be bring back the BCS format and allow those teams to compete in an 8 team playoff for the national championship.
It would remove the zero sum season where only 1 team has a successful season and the rest should spend more money because they failed. That is the big pushback for the 24 team playoff.
The BCS selection process was the best we've had in CFB. What wasn't good was deciding 2 team's to play the National Championship game and leaving the rest out.
Keep the BCS format and have all BCS teams play for the National Championship. It brings the team's down to eight, it removes the bias from a committee, and it keeps college traditions such as confrence championships, rivalries, and bowl games alive.
