There's a funny bit at the end of the Odyssey (the poem) where Odysseus goes "well guess we'll have to do a bit of raiding around to replenish all my lost animals the suitors ate". Really contextualizes his "kingdom" as really a poor little island and him as an agrarian cheiftain
