The most iconic Freedom Run ad on Doordarshan, one that brought a nation together in a spirit of glorious patriotism. This was 1987 when Rajiv Gandhi was PM (it’s his birth anniversary today) and DD was creating some brilliant trend setting shows.
Sadly, today in an age of performative nationalism, we make Insta reels that often lack genuine emotion. And the same public service broadcaster who once united a nation now divides us with toxic religious propaganda. Tragic. 🙏
Modi's use of the term "dimaagi naxal" wasn't random. Neither was it an original idea.
In his satirical book titled 1984, George Orwell coined the term "thought criminals."
They were people who hold personal, political, or moral ideas that go against the rules made by those in power.
Thought criminals were punished just for thinking the ‘wrong things.’
Aap chronology samajh lijiye.
July 29:
"Show us the order proving Shah ordered firing" —Rijiju
"Shah couldn't have ordered firing; only a magistrate can" —Jitendra Singh
"There was no firing" —Piyush Goyal
August 7:
"You can't dictate that Shah must appear" —Rijiju
"The day the discussion begins here, and when Amit Shah responds, you won't be able to sit through it" —Rijiju
August 8:
"Shah is in Parliament every day" —Rijiju
August 12:
"Fine. Let's have a discussion. Start at 3 pm. I will personally sit there and answer everything for 24 hours" —Amit Shah
August 13:
Amit Shah in the front row, next to Modi.
This was the first time Shah entered the Lok Sabha during this entire 18-day session!
Speaker Om Birla entered the House.
Instead of taking up the promised discussion, the House first proceeded with the national song, Vande Mataram.
All six stanzas were rendered.
Members, including Modi and Shah, stood.
And immediately after it ended, Birla announced that the House was adjourned sine die.
As they say, patriotism is the last refuge...

Former naxal women who once lived in the forests of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region traded the shadows of insurgency for the spotlight of a fashion runway in Raipur.
The former cadres walked confidently in a tribal fashion show organised as part of National Handloom Day celebrations, showcasing traditional handwoven outfits. Their appearance on the ramp offered a striking picture of transformation — from lives shaped by armed insurgency to new beginnings in mainstream society.
Instead of weapons, they carried handwoven fabrics; instead of hiding in the forests, they took centre stage as models. Their participation highlighted how rehabilitation programmes and livelihood opportunities can help those who surrender the insurgency rebuild their lives and find a new path forward.
NOTE: PM Modi and HM Amit Shah make a token appearance in the Lok Sabha on the final day, as the House is adjourned sine die. Parliament historians struggle to recall when a PM as Leader of the House was absent from the House during an entire Lok Sabha session. Hopefully, this precedent will not be repeated. Each side will blame the other, but Parliament and parliamentary democracy deserves better: dialogue, debate, not disengagement and disruption. 🙏
International selection for sale. CM’s order: “Baith jao.”
She won gold. They demanded ₹1.5 lakh. The CM said “Sit down, beta.”
A gold-medal Taekwondo girl stands in front of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and says the quiet part out loud:
“National gold mila.
International selection
hua. Lekin paise maang rahe the. Isliye nahi ja paayi.”
Hall falls dead silent.
CM’s legendary response?
“Baith jao beta… koi baat nahi.”
No anger.
No immediate action.
No “who asked for money?”
Just the classic Uttarakhand special: Sit down, beta. We’ll order a report.
A young girl risked everything to expose the price of her own dream, and the Chief Minister’s first instinct was to shut her up politely.
This is not governance.
This is the system protecting itself in real time.
₹1.5 lakh for an international jersey.
And the man who runs the state just said “koi baat nahi.”
If this is “double-engine” development, then the engine is running on the dreams of poor athletes.

This is the face of your sports policy.

To transform Kerala into a national model in disaster management, key decisions were taken in the Cabinet meeting:
📌AI-based Dam Management: Implementation of an AI system to scientifically regulate dam gate operations based on inflow, outflow, and rainfall data.
📌Desiltation Drive: Urgent removal of sand and silt from dams, rivers, Vembanad Lake, and Pamba River to mitigate flood risks.
📌 Disaster Resilience Programme: Strengthening weather forecasting and flood mapping—modeled on states like Odisha—to minimize disaster impacts.

If you see a video from a celebrity who:
– Didn't speak about paper leak
– Didn't speak about 21 NEET student deaths
– Didn't speak when students were lathicharged
– Didn't speak when pellet guns were allegedly used
– Didn't speak when women were beaten by male cops
But finally speaks about Modi being abused because "that is not our culture"
You should know that's a paid propaganda video.
Ajinkya Rahane announced his retirement, so in celebration of his career please enjoy every single run he scored in India's 2-1 victory in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. #AUSvIND https://t.co/kGwVkywpFI
The boomers failed the millenials by being patriarchal uncles & phuphajis in every household. They restricted our freedoms and forced their shitty political beliefs on us.
They created a generation of selfish cowards who don't speak up when needed.
Millenials should not do the same mistake with GenZ.
We need to become a shield that these kids need so that they can have the freedom to express themselves politically, so that they have the space to rebel & revolt against the establishment.
We need to potect that space FOR them. We should create a fortress around them which protects them from these evil maniacs in powe that are coming for their heads with pellet guns and laathis.
Hear me out millenials: We have the brains, we have the resources and we have the skills to do this.
All we need is the intent.
Stop being fckn apolitical.
Get active.
Speak up and protect the next gen.
Don't make the same mistakes our parents did.
To come in as captain when the last time your team batted, they scored 36. To then score a century and lead your team to the most improbable series win in sports history, with half your team on the injury list and practice bowlers making debuts has to be the most incredible turnaround in Indian sport.
Go well @ajinkyarahane88, you will be missed, and celebrated!
A special word for @ajinkyarahane88 Ajinkya Rahane as he announces his retirement from international cricket. Few have worn the India colours with greater dignity, humility and quiet excellence. Match-winning centuries at Melbourne and Lord’s. Never lost a Test as captain. The boy from Dombivli who caught the 5 a.m. train to get to practice became one of Indian cricket’s most understated heroes. Not always celebrated, but always dependable. Salute, Jinks. 🫡🇮🇳👏
