French’s onions should print the label upside down so when you flip to open it for green bean casserole, all the crushed up ones at the bottom get mixed in with the beans and the pretty ones go up top.
Why is Apple Maps still so bad? I search for a category of things (today: hot chocolate) and it takes me to a specific place in another state. I’m sure Mindy’s in Chicago is nice, but I am in Colorado. This happens frequently since leaving the Bay Area. Coincidence? 85788025
@pathofshrines@mikeash @griotspeak What gets me is the leading underscore is supposed to be reserved for Apple. A different inconsistency should have been picked to represent the internal-ness of the ivar. Something understood to be developer Internal, not AppleInternal
I’m tired of defending myself when I say, “I care about those who are not vaccinated.” It goes without saying that I do not care about those who CHOOSE not to vaccinate. When I say that, I mean CAN’T get the vaccine. Just let me forget those other people.
👋 Senior Apple folks! Forcing staff back into the office no matter their circumstances, and even asking for access to their medical records, is a really lousy look. We're all watching, and want to see you do better. Please think different 🙇♂️
@mrawdon@scalzi And deleted scenes on DVDs are basically mob boss-style threats. “Nice movie you just watched, eh? Pity if something should happen to the editor“
@adamrawlings It’s monoculture. Yes, there’s a certain cohesion working with the type of people who can A) drop everything and move for a new job B) leave family(pets) in the care of others C) commute far or C’) afford to live close. But to exclude all others reduces the talent & culture pool
