@jarensel@AHundredDrums I'm just standing up for what's right. All NotLo had to do was say I'm sorry for plagiarizing that's all. And hundred drums could've applauded that. Enabling this fake apology hurts smaller artists who put in the work, and makes it okay to plagiarize to grow your career
@jarensel@AHundredDrums I get what you are saying, and I'm not advocating bullying at all. I'm criticizing Hundred drums for applauding a fake apology that doesn't acknowledge the issue. That's not a matter of opinion, that's a matter of literal interpretation of the apology
@jarensel@AHundredDrums Student A plagiarizes an essay online and submits it. Teacher catches Student A. Student A says they are sorry they were naive and didn't know the rules to writing the essay. Should Student A be applauded? I guess according to you, yeah
@AHundredDrums You said "this is great action". I disagree b/c NotLo did not acknowledge that she plagiarized tracks multiple times. She misdirected the blame on being naive and using samples and loops. She's playing dumb instead of acknowledging her mistake. You don't copy a track unknowingly
@kumarionmusic@keetro_@varien Yeah, mob mentality is not good for this situation I agree. My whole point, that I also believe @varien is making, is that these big artists shouldn't be supporting her/dismissing her actions. And in the original tweet, she's staying why they did, which if true is wrong
@kumarionmusic@keetro_@varien I'm not saying big artists should bash her. But instead of supporting her, condemn the action instead of saying she was naive/was a mistake. And she also needs to own it. Condemning bad actions prevents bad actions. Dismissing it doesn't
@kumarionmusic@varien Come on Kumarion... I'm disappointed in you. Yes I agree that she shouldn't be threatened. But she didn't just use samples, she copied/barely modified a sample TRACK. People have to take a stance against plagiarism
@kumarionmusic@XavierDarkstar@varien Having no idea what she was doing? I think it's pretty easy to tell if you are taking a whole track and barely modifying it to make it your own. She's an adult, not a child. It's happened more than once which is a big issue here. I'm very surprised you are taking her side
@varien That makes so much sense! I was beginning to form a conspiracy about why are all these big artists supporting her while all these small artists aren't
