27th May sees the 86th anniversary of the Maiden Voyage of RMS Queen Mary in 1936. Here’s an image I took a few years ago when making a programme for the BBC. Another year without celebration on board. Let’s hope essential work can be completed soon and she can reopen to visitors

Just had the great pleasure of presenting Heather Beagley with a copy of my new RMS Queen Mary book (Bloomsbury). Now nearing her 100th birthday, Heather is believed to be the last living passenger who travelled aboard the ship on the maiden voyage in 1936. My absolute privilege!

Exciting landmark moment… Bloomsbury asked me to update one of my books about vintage liner RMS Queen Mary. It’s at the printers as I type and will be launched on 11th November! This year is the 85th anniversary of QM's maiden voyage to NY in 1936. @ReedsNautical
