The teachers unions are funneling tens if not hundreds of millions into their proxy "grassroots" organizations to attack school choice measures.

Today they are used to thwart school choice, but these orgs will be used for any issue the teachers unions call them to act on.

It does depend. I have coached and played with both - the athletically elite who need high accountability and the ones who need very minimal nudges.

I often termed them differently: one is athletically gifted and the other is a superior athlete. The latter needs very little external motivators.

That's why it bugs me seeing these policies pushed down on students who more often than not need the accountability.

The Community Schools model gives unions like CTU and their allies more power and control over children, their families, and local businesses.

The model creates more bureaucracy and layers of administrative bloat between the parents and their child's teacher.

It is a WEF stakeholder model being implemented through publicly funded schools.

This is what progress looks and feels like.

@an_average_bear @neetu_arnold Im aware. The issue isn't with MIT, its that other institutions (ie UMICH) think it should be universal and start applying standards that might work in that niche to the general population.

Like trying to run a D1 college level offense with HS freshman.

You're probably correct, and like all things, if done for very specific purposes with high-end students, it can be effective. I've coached/ taught a few who went through MIT.

Though in the case of UMICH, this is a broad spectrum policy that ranges from hard STEM to Gender Studies.

And there is always the concern of the slippery slope - it starts with only freshman year and eventually becomes normalized to all academic years.

We already went down this road when John Adams' admin pushed through the Alien and Sedition Act.
