We weren’t initially aware of the great view of Brookmill Park, at Monday’s 📖 event at the wonderful The Brookmill, Deptford, with @cornish_jack , @TheStreetTree and John Gray.
Do you know the one tree 🌳 mentioned there by Paul Wood (he knows his trees!)?
Inspired by Paul Wood's excellent "1,000 Trees to find in Britain and Ireland's Towns and Cities" I'm starting a slow burn thread on the most interesting trees of Hendon, Mill Hill and Edgware

URGENT We’re 5 weeks out from Urban Tree Festival and still building the funding to make it happen.
Please share our sponsorship call, tag us and shout about us far and wide with tree orgs, local authorities & businesses who want to make a positive contribution.
Thank you!💚
Disgraceful scenes on the streets of Falmouth today, as @CornwallCouncil deliberately flouted the law in order to needlessly destroy three perfectly healthy & beautiful street trees.
Even worse, to stop the local citizens who elect & fund them) from peacefully trying to stop their unlawful behaviour, the council turned the street into a battleground & used dozens of police & private security to allow their vandalism to go ahead, enforced with violence if necessary.
Tree people, we came across this smallish, multi-stemmed tree in Bath Botanical Gardens today and it has us stumped. Apparently deciduous, leaves nearly as thick as a holly. Apps uncooperative. Ideas? @TreeRegister@TheStreetTree@TiCLme
This is the first American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) I’ve knowingly seen in the UK - #KewGardens of course!
Despite being one genetic parent of the common, hybrid, #Londonplane, it’s unusual in this country
Have you seen one growing anywhere else in Britain ? 🌳🇬🇧🤔
There was a time when people were visiting #Bermondsey from around the world, thanks to Ada Salter’s tree-planting and urban planning efforts that made it an international example of improved living standards for all. Learn more about it 10.30am-12.30, Sat 11th October.
