@DrShrimpPuert19@BianchiWeather The lower clouds require more spacing which means the amount of aircraft that can land in an hour drops (which is called the rate), so that's where delays come in. Sometimes the delays happen in the air and sometimes on the ground before departing.
@BianchiWeather Which is far more restrictive when they're in south flow because 16R and 16L are too close to each other... Thankfully South winds and IFR ceilings are fairly uncommon because of downsloping off the Palmer but it does happen occasionally.
@BianchiWeather Correct. The VFR/IFR ceiling threshold at DEN is a lot higher than other airports... Pilots need to be able to visually see the field at around 10,500ft MSL, so we'll call it roughly 5,500ft AGL. If not, then they'll need to run ILS approaches.
@BianchiWeather@TTrogdon The Hailraisers is a NCAR/NOAA softball team that began playing in the 1980s and still runs strong today! You're more than welcome to a game if you're available. We play Thursday nights at Stazio fields in Boulder.
@editti22 I got talked into bungee jumping in Singapore many years ago and it was actually really cool... Turns out I'm afraid of heights, not falling, so that part was fun. And the weightlessness feeling of rebounding back up.
