It is astounding that - even in light of the ecological disaster unfolding in Lough Neagh - DUP and UUP Cllrs voted *against* a call for an independent Environmental Protection Agency at ABC Council tonight. Complete and utter nihilism. We must start holding polluters to account.
While Britain is demanding war crime charges against the Russian military. They're completely silent on a guy who oversaw 2 massacres of civilians inside 6 months, 500 miles away from London.
PSNI officers who need help after an accidental data breach will swiftly and rightly get it. Families bereaved by deliberate state leaks of intelligence on Catholics ("so much we didn't know what to do with it") will continue to face PSNI obstruction decades on.
Roger that.
The RUC/UDR gave the names, addresses & photographs of republicans & Catholics to loyalists death squads, many of whom were later murdered & the state covered it up.
Some Brits:
F*cking furious when a tiny part of their outgoings go to helping people fleeing other countries
Also some Brits:
Silent when a massive part of their income goes to profiteering oil companies and their shareholders

Why did British Gas think they could turn profits 10 x higher during a cost of living crisis?
Because they knew they would get away with it…
They knew the govt would do nothing to stop them
They knew most of the billionaire owned press would distract us
Epic exploitation!
It would take the average UK worker more than 32,000 years to make what British Gas just made in 6 months.
This is a cost-of-greed crisis — and millions of people are paying the price.
There is an alternative: bring energy into democratic public ownership!
UK public debt:
Jun 2023: £2.6tn, 100.8% of GDP
Feb 2020, £1.791tn, 79.1% of GDP
May 2010, £1.03tn, 65% of GDP
Squandered on perks and tax cuts for the rich/corporations.
No new industries started. Public services destroyed.
Taxes at 70 yr high.
14.4m Brits living in poverty.
I’m here at Kilcooley in Bangor where no flags or emblems have been placed on the bonfire here.
Community leaders here telling us that they have made an active decision to make this as “welcoming as possible for all communities” @BelTel
This is the Rathcoole Bonfire in
North Belfast. There is an effigy of local Sinn Féin Cllr Taylor McGrann with a noose around his neck & scum written. Totally devoid of humanity & should be removed by the local community. #bonfires
An entire generation has grown up free of the pain and division of the Drumcree dispute. It is frankly mind-boggling that an MP would seek to undermine the work of the Parades Commission and reignite this issue 25 years later. The vast majority of people have moved on.
As the Orange Order is prevented from walking down the Garvaghy Road for the 25th year my sympathy (as a Protestant and unionist) is with the bereaved McGoldrick, Quinn, Hamill and O’Reilly families.
The inconvenience suffered by the OO is minor by comparison to their loss.
This is a toxic sectarian organisation, which is unable to accept decisions of the Parades Commission and Westminster ( Windsor Framework). Why did @BBCnireland platform it on radio& TV yesterday to resurrect a 25 year old row which led to the death of 3 children ?
