Huawei is reportedly building its own factory to make DRAM memory chips, which could eventually impact RAM prices for PCs and other devices.

Right now, most DRAM chips come from Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.

If Huawei can successfully make its own DRAM chips, it could add more supply to the market and increase competition.
That doesn’t mean RAM will get cheaper overnight, new chip factories take years to ramp up but it could help bring prices down in the long run.

The move is part of China’s push to produce more of its own advanced chips instead of relying on overseas suppliers.
