@BBCJersey 2nd time in one night but #Redtaperenouf at it again !!!
I’m in disbelief at how negative you are. I also struggle to understand why you wouldn’t want private investment in a facility that will add so much benefit to the island. Jersey needs to adapt and grow or get left behind
@JonathanRenouf#Redtaperenouf at it again !
I could not disagree with you any more. There’s a target, targets need to be able to move and adapt to suit, let it be fluid. There’s no benefit to what you’re proposing
Why are you always trying to add control and restriction. It’s unbelievable !
@JonathanRenouf Conveniently ignorant considering they all cited a downturn in work and or delayed project commencement ! (A direct impact of the guidance) the people effected are my colleagues and I’m very aware of reasons.
Let’s put this in the ever growing basket of what we don’t agree on.
@JonathanRenouf Furthermore, I can guarantee if you had not forced this pointless guidance, the industry would not of had as many construction businesses cease trading, as the workflow they depended on would have continued.
@JonathanRenouf 2/2 - 2 larger dwellings.
These sites are nearly always in a green zone or secluded area and as such no planning officer or planning committee panel would ever of approved a multiple dwelling scheme in these areas as its completely against nearly every policy in the island plan
@JonathanRenouf 1/2 That’s just not a reality though you know this to be the case. Not a single site in the island that had, or would have had, an application for a house of over 3000sqft would have ever been granted permission for anything more then a single dwelling, or at best …
@JonathanRenouf@GovJersey@lyndonfarnham Ironically I think Construction is one of the areas that needs better regulation. Anyone off the street can start a construction company and gamble with peoples lives. However there are many other areas of society that need less red tape and regulation in order to thrive.
@LeBraye@GovJersey It took 13 months post rezoning for the development guidance document to be produced by @GovJersey.
The 6-7 month delay in commencement from May 24 was due to red tape put In place by the planning system via a serious of ‘pre commencement planning conditions’
Too much red tape!
Foundations finally being poured on the first re zoned affordable housing site. 3 years after it was designated for an affordable housing scheme?
Whilst it is a positive step, the planning system simply took too long due of too much @GovJersey red tape!
Lets learn from this🙏
I’ve lost count at the number of times I’ve tried to emphasize how broken the system is !
This level of refusals is not a coincidence, this is commensurate with the policy. Genuinely angers me at the negative collateral effect these refusals have on islanders and business’s.
Planning meeting from 06th June.
20 applications, 17 recommended for refusal.
Given that we have pre-planning advice, most are submitted via architects, where is the system broken?

@JonathanRenouf 2/2 we should not be blindly following the already disastrous Uk planning policy. We should be creating our to help the island thrive economically whilst balancing our heritage. Not letting it be a burden or liability. This is in the same pot as the tree law debacle !
@JonathanRenouf 1/2 To quote yourself directly @JonathanRenouf ‘As an island we have always had a flare for reinvention, but recently the pipeline has run dry. We need to rediscover that spirit of innovation and entrepreneurialism. To me it is summed up in the phrase “small island, big waves’’.
@thecyclecrank Every house has 2 covered bike stores, electric vehicle infrastructure & there is an Evie bike zone, however given the recent news on Evie bikes we’re are uncertain how this will be allocated. Additionally there is allocated ‘car club’ spaces. ✅
Today our scheme for 37 affordable first time buyers homes was approved unanimously by the planning committee. We worked very closely with the planning department to bring this amazing project a step closer to reality. Thank you to everyone who was instrumental in the process 😃
