@GHBSmith It's situational. Following the CZ can be dangerous, enemies can shoot the antenna. It's also easy not to get spawn camped. Look for downed friendlies around the APC, or hop in the driver's seat and do a quick 360. Drive off if danger, don't even have to go far.
@SteveJo080@GarandThumb1 Yeah hospital was my favorite. Pulling off crazy clutches with a shit AK as the VIP was peak. I wanted to like pipeline too but too many sweats spamming nades on that one
@TheMadRambo@ZypZapCommunity@WARDOGS "play like you used to" makes sense now
I had the same exact experience, marathon of a VLAN with the boys this weekend
Tapped outta my last game of beta @WARDOGS with 64hrs between that and alpha. Some thoughts:
- love that each round feels different based on team compositions and what they choose to field. Some games have no fobs and everyone is just brawling over the HZ, other games are ping ponging the HZ between their fortresses/drills. You need to adapt to the situation and that's awesome.
- meta progression is great, the game plays different on day 1 vs day 3 as people unlock stuff, not too dissimilar to early wipe Tarkov. No lifers are gonna wreck people though, level 3 armor is so much better for survivibility letting you win otherwise even fights, etc.
- uncontested tanks or havoks don't feel great, but they said they'll balance with all the data collected over the two weekends. I'd hope it's a later unlock with some sort of AT more readily available (mines, RPG, etc)
- speaking of RPGs, they're so freakin heavy man it's tough bringing that with enough ammo and good armor and a gun. My boy was huffin and puffin the whole time running around (wadling, more like)
- we tried to do some spec ops with a humvee full of C4 and rockets but it kept despawning after ~5 minutes left unattended even with a full inventory which didn't feel great. The idea was to park it a bit aways, walk in, blow up the enemy FOB, and exfil for the next objective but that didn't pan out. Hope that gets fixed though I get not littering the CZ with abandoned vehicles.
- the MP5 is an absolute killer.
- some concern over netcode, there were a few instances of getting "one tapped" but it was actually 4 instances of damage.
- winning as Lonestar on the OG map feels like an achievement, just constant bullying by both teams, being sandwiched in the middle. The other map plays much better.
- learning how to disengage from a quagmire of a fight is a skill and can win games.
- finally, big fan of how logistics is done in this game. A decently sized squad can usually win fights and not wipe, but attrition wears out ammo, meds, and armor. We had a pilot in our squad that was flying in supplies to us on the front line which was great for sustained zone presence. Plus he was making bank off us, charging exuberant prices ๐
See ya on release ๐ซก
@HowardPhilpott uncontested tanks are disgusting. I hope you guys balance it out and this was just pre-release testing (unlock AT earlier, put tanks later)
@superbsr_@WARDOGS@BULKHEAD YESSS brother ๐ซก
me and my boys locked the fuck in for that last half hour. Earlier, attacking that green fob was epic too, blowing down the gate with RPGs to rush in. absolute cinema of a game
Just had the most insane ~2hr game of @WARDOGS where we as Lonestar came back from a 40pt deficit to win against Valkyra sitting at 99. Absolute peak gaming experience, including a last minute hail mary APC full send under fire into the hotzone to clinch it.
Thank you @BULKHEAD
