Excited to finally share our recent work, "Wall teichoic acids regulate peptidoglycan synthesis by paving cell wall microstructure", available now on bioRxiv! @TheRojasLab https://t.co/5JW5VDBmJg
Excited to be moving HOME to NYC to head the Laboratory of Environmental Microbiology @RockefellerUniv in Jan. 2025. Pics surely representative of future lab activities.
We have a new story out at BiorXiv! Amazing work led by @za_curtis (Bisson), Pedro Escudeiro (Alva) and John Mallon (Bisson).
Great collaboration with @Vikram_Alva (Max Planck) and @pohlschr (UPenn).

Our Pxyl paper is out. Congrats to @theopi and Katie Andre (co-1st) and my invaluable co-last Micaela Cerletti. This was a fast paper, less than a year from concept to pub.
Thank you @A_CharlesOrszag (best editor) and our reviewers for correcting us.

The article about Nancy Kleckner's research including from Tn10 to crossover interference in meiosis is very interesting.

@ATinyGreenCell@Chebky1 If filamentation is the culprit here it could be indicative of stress (SOS response). If it's chaining, then my guess would be that the septal cell wall hydrolases are having trouble in low salt. If it's clumping or cell dimension changes I'm not sure what it means.
@ATinyGreenCell@Chebky1 Makes sense! I once worked with a very chainy Bacillus strain and found that it was necessary to read very frequently to get good growth rate measurements (2 mins in my case).
My latest work “Quantifying turgor pressure in budding and fission yeasts based upon osmotic properties” with @fredchanglab is out on biorXiv! A thread (1/8) https://t.co/fOv1WD8Ua5

Good luck!!🤞🤞🤞
@ATinyGreenCell@joachimgoedhart Are there any tools that take advantage of all the new fancy protein deep learning stuff to help with where to put the tag?
A preprint of my PhD work is up!
We revisited a Tabin lab experiment from the 90s to figure out how Hox expression regulates epithelial wrinkling in the chick gut.
Huge thanks to Sifan Yin @Mahadevan_Lab@thuycke @NerurkarLab & Jack Lawlor
