Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister @myogiadityanath Ji, Uttar Pradesh has achieved another milestone, with Shekha Jheel Bird Sanctuary (Aligarh) being designated as a Ramsar Site- taking UP’s tally to 12 and India’s to 99.

This bird sanctuary serves as a critical habitat for migratory birds, strengthening biodiversity, boosting local livelihoods and ensuring water & climate security. Its rich ecosystem is reflected in the presence of 249 bird species, including 62 wetland-dependent species.

With a focus on Sustainability, Security and Sustainable Growth, New Uttar Pradesh is setting new standards of balanced and inclusive development.

👉 उत्तर प्रदेश में एक नई जगह को “रामसर साइट” का दर्जा मिला है। इस जगह का नाम शेखा झील पक्षी अभयारण्य (अलीगढ़) है।

👉 रामसर साइट बनने का मतलब है कि यह जगह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण वेटलैंड (गीली भूमि) है, जिसकी सुरक्षा जरूरी है।

👉 इससे क्या फायदा होगा?

✴️आसपास के लोगों की रोज़गार (आजीविका) बढ़ेगी
✴️प्रकृति और जीव-जंतु (जैव विविधता) की रक्षा होगी
✴️पानी की सुरक्षा बेहतर होगी
✴️जलवायु (climate) को भी फायदा मिलेगा

👉 अब उत्तर प्रदेश में ऐसी 12 रामसर साइट हो गई हैं, और पूरे भारत में 99 हो गई हैं।

👉 शेखा झील क्यों खास है?
यह उन रास्तों (फ्लाईवे) पर है जहाँ से विदेशी पक्षी (प्रवासी पक्षी) आते हैं।

👉 सर्दियों में यहाँ कई पक्षी आते हैं, जैसे:
बगुला हंस
पेंटेड स्टॉर्क
अलग-अलग तरह की बत्तखें
👉 मतलब:
यह झील पक्षियों के लिए रहने और आराम करने की बहुत जरूरी जगह है।
