@BonesawMD Much of the world makes me feel this way. Can’t move. No freedom. Horses are so satiating to the eye for this reason, for me. Looks like freedom. Moves like joy. Fucking fantastic.
@BonesawMD Love this. Horses in particular feed something in me. I have often had dreams where I’m in a fight. Either my body moves slow, like I’m throwing jabs through quicksand, or I’m quick, but when my hands land, they collapse. No structure. Like putty.
@Fredvine28 I also don’t understand the “straight down instead of posterior chain and outside heel” thing. Squats and deadlifts can do this. Also all the goata stuff is transferring force down, albeit, allegedly transferring the force differently. But the force is always downward.
@Fredvine28 I genuinely do not understand the take that squats and deadlifts are inherently “front chain.” Only examples I have seen are when people perform the exercise in some bastardized way (pushing hips forward, etc.).
I’m open to it, but I don’t understand what y’all are on about yet.
@WellBuiltStyle I can totally see that. I’ve switched over to natural fibers, and I see different guys doing different things. More graphic and vintage tees. More looser fits (starting to see this with women too). Crop tops even seem to be making a come back (if you’re lean)
@WellBuiltStyle FWIW, I’d love to see your take on gym style. Kinobody is one person I see who does this well. A few others out there too, but curious what you think
@ablxttt@fastrlife Weck method ropeflow is a fantastic way to retrain gait mechanics. Can be done daily, intensity and complexity easily scalable. Sprinting also fantastic.
@basichumanstf I think about this a lot. I wonder how much of this might be resolved by living close to: where you work, third places, family/friends.
Obviously there’s more going on, but I think the social element and cutting out the commutes might do a lot to make urban living healthier
@rachcorrine 100p (I’m stealing that btw). This comes up all the time for me.
Especially when people are trying to pull the “but I’m just being honest” card
