I think our defenses get a bad rap these days. Defenses are the brilliant ways our minds and psyches protect us from things we can’t currently handle - things that could cause us harm.
Rest is required for learning (& forgetting is required for learning!). Learning isn't just mashing more content into a bucket-brain forever. Lots of effects (from deliberate practice to spacing) show cram/work 'til you drop methods are inefficient, destructive in the longterm.
How long it takes for someone to text you back has nothing to do with you and how they feel about you, and everything to do with that other person’s relationship to technology, and what is happening for them in their in-the-moment life. #therapy

Today, the majority of this country, myself included, celebrates the birth of a Brown-skinned Jewish refugee and migrant, a major prophet in Islam, a socialist, a champion of equality, who preached against exorbitant wealth, hunger, homelessness, and hatred. Merry Christmas!
Y'all need to leave Adam Driver alone. He experienced some mental discomfort during an interview and removed himself from the situation. He took care of himself in that moment. He didn't insult or offend or hurt anyone. We shouldn't stigmatize mental health like this.
