This is why @PTPresearch values and partners with investigative journalists. It’s not enough that we know these things happen. We want to world to know about the constant injustices of incarceration. https://t.co/v6JGXJSqPw
@PTPresearch or fabulous team member @CatherineChesney has just released her disturbing and ground breaking work on deaths in custody and it is creating a debate. This is why we do what we do. One more veil lifted. https://t.co/F3tSFfJrGL

We talked of hope and reasons to live. We shared on tear and a hug. And then the bitterness of saying goodbye by saying I hope you will be free very soon. @PTPresearch
Incredibly dense and complicated visit to a maximum/medium security prison here in Spain. I am grateful for one brief but beautiful moment of connection with a prisoner from Morocco who is helping other North African prisoners to navigate prison life. @PTPresearch
We had a very interesting visit to two halfway houses today. Fascinating work being done in the half way house for women and their children. @PTPresearch
Today in Barcelona the @PTPresearch is having a fascinating meeting with prison officials in Catalonia, learning how they have take up and adapted Canada’s problematic rehabilitation scheme.
Today we met with Inaki Rivera Beiras, an astonishing scholar and activist. His outspoken views on Catalan prisons made him a target of the Spanish State. He also founded the local, citizen driven prison observatory. @PTPresearch has a new and valued friend.
Public presentation of @PTPresearch moderated by Alejandro Forero & Patricia Faraldo with @theantidawn, José A. Brandariz and Maximo Sozzo hosted by @OSPDH1
We are privileged today to spend time with Inaki Rivera Beiras, founder of the Catalan Observatory on Human Rights and Prison who is teaching us about prison activism in Spain. So inspiring to hear stories of activists in solidarity with prisoners. @PTPresearch
A punto de comenzar la presentación pública del @PTPresearch con la intervención de José A. Brandariz, miembro de @ecrim_udc, junto a @theantidawn y Máximo Sozzo.
Amazing activists effecting grassroots oversight of prisons and immigration detention centres. Health neglect, violence, hiding dead bodies, poor or fake data. @PTPresearch
A day of collaborative meetings with local partners, activists and researchers in Barcelona. Fascinating points of comparison as we learn how Spanish incarceration mirrors Canadian incarceration but not Argentina. Today we begin work on immigration detention @PTPresearch
