@TJlovesFI @JakeSnake857@iamharaldur You're right. Disabled people should have to just stay home and never be seen in public because the public refuses to offer things like bathrooms. /sarcasm
@LuxMeaMundiAM@nypost I appreciate you saying "sometimes things are worth doing in trade for pain" because what most people don't understand is that many disabilities don't prevent you from doing X activity but doing X activity damages or hurts the person.
I think people seriously underestimate the degree to which terrible things can be happening to your body but you just adapt until it becomes a new baseline because you have no choice and nobody is helping you or they’re actively telling you nothing is wrong.
I didn’t know this photo existed but it does convey how I feel about the use of my father to justify injustice, inhumanity, war, and oppression. https://t.co/P9YPE7pr6P
🧵 Amy:
Certainly, my father was against antisemitism, as am I.
He also believed militarism (along with racism and poverty) to be among the interconnected Triple Evils.
I am certain he would call for Israel’s bombing of Palestinians to cease, for hostages to be released…
a lot of discussion i’ve seen talking about like, “how could people who survived the holocaust turn around and do this to others” reminds me of how during a talk about his book MAUS, art spiegelman said re:israel, “suffering doesn’t make people good, it just makes them suffer”
