LASG RELEASES TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR PHASE I RECONSTRUCTION OF OGUNNUSI ROAD IN IKEJA LGA.
The Lagos State Government has announced traffic management plan to enable the Federal Ministry of Works commence Phase 1 reconstruction and expansion works on Ogunnusi Road, spanning from Ojodu-Berger Bus-Stop to Mobil Filling Station Junction (Ijaye/Agege Bound) in Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The project, forms part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade the 9.0-kilometre dual carriage corridor between Ojodu-Berger Bus-Stop and Mobil Filling Station Junction (both inbound and outbound).
The entire project (Phase 1&2) is scheduled to run from Friday, 6th March, 2026 through different phases to Thursday, 6th January, 2028.
Phase 1 of the project will cover a 4.5-kilometre stretch from Ojodu-Berger Bus-Stop inward Mobil Filling Station Junction (Ijaye/Agege Bound). The phase is scheduled to commence on Friday, 6th March, 2026 and is expected to be completed by Saturday, 6th February, 2027.
To facilitate seamless execution of the works, there will be no vehicular access within the designated work zone.
Consequently, the following traffic diversion measures have been put in place:
1. Motorists inward Ijaye/Agege through Ogunnusi Road (Ojodu-Berger) will be diverted to move on a contraflow on Ojodu-Berger bound carriageway for approximately one (1) kilometre, after which they will gain access back into the main carriageway to continue their journeys.
● Alternatively, motorists may use Dr. Nurudeen Olowopopo Way to connect Otunba Jobifele Way to Obafemi Awolowo Way to link Lateef Jakande Road to connect with their respective destinations.
2. Articulated and trucks drivers from Lagos-Ibadan Expressway heading to Agege are advised to go through Ojota /Maryland to link Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way to access Kodesoh Street and connect Oba Akran Avenue to Guinness Roundabout to link Ogba Road to Pen cinema and continue their journeys.
3. Motorists travelling from Ijaye/Agege through Ogunnusi Road toward Ojodu-Berger will experience through traffic. However, upon approaching the work zone, they will be diverted to form a contraflow with Ijaye/Agege bound traffic for approximately one (1) kilometre before regaining full access to the road after the construction area.
Emergency and Breakdown Management during the construction period;
To ensure smooth traffic flow and prompt incident response, emergency tow vehicles will be stationed strategically within the corridor to provide quick recovery operations throughout the construction period.
Advisory to Motorists
Motorists are strongly advised to exercise patience, comply with traffic signage, and cooperate with Traffic Management Officials deployed along the corridor. The temporary traffic adjustments are necessary to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the reconstruction and expansion works for better travel experience.

LASG ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR ROAD RECONSTRUCTION BETWEEN SUPER AND ILEPO BUS-STOP (INBOUND LAGOS) ALONG LAGOS-ABEOKUTA EXPRESSWAY

The Lagos State Government has announced traffic management plan to enable the Federal Ministry of Works reconstruct a section of the main carriageway between Super Bus-Stop and Ilepo Bus-stop (Inbound Lagos) along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway from Saturday, 7th March, 2026 to Saturday, 30th May, 2026. (12 weeks).

In line with the scheduled reconstruction, the main carriageway from Super Bus-stop to Ilepo Bus-stop (Lagos bound) will totally closed to traffic.

To manage movement along the corridor, motorists are hereby enjoined to take note of the highlighted alternativeroutes;

Lagos Bound Traffic

Option 1- Motorists from Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate going to Lagos/Oshodi will be diverted to the BRT Corridor by Super Bus-Stop and exit the BRT Corridor by Pleasure Bus-Stop (Ilepo) to continue their journeys.

Option 2- Motorists from Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate going to Lagos/Oshodi can also go through Ekoro Road to Old Otta Road through Alira Street to link Abeokuta Street to connect Pleasure Bus-Stop to continue their journeys.

Option 3- Motorists from Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate going to Lagos/Oshodi can alternatively go through Abule EgbaUnderbridge to connect Agege to link their desired destinations

For the construction period, motorists on the other side of the carriageway, (Abeokuta Bound) will have a through traffic.

For Breakdown Management, emergency tow vehicleswill be stationed to provide quick recovery operations within the BRT corridor during this period.

Advisory to Motorists
Motorists are implored to be patient, comply with traffic signage, and cooperate with Traffic Management Officials deployed along the corridor forsafe and efficient execution of the reconstruction works for better motoring experience.
