DRDO has taken initiative to develop indigenous engine to power futuristic combat vehicles. The engine is being designed to be compact, efficient and light weight making it suitable for future combat vehicles.

The development testing of Gen 1 engine has completed 250 hours and the
targeted power and torque output in test bed has been achieved. During the year
2024, 675 hp power output from the engine at 3200 rpm has been conducted
