The obsession with CGI de-aging needs to end. Let actors age. If a story needs a younger version of someone, cast an actor who actually looks the part instead of turning a real human face into a glossy digital mask. Good casting still works.

Lens flare’s not over used. Abrams said it about his own use of it. And maybe don’t go to Snyder as an example, seeing as his films are hyper real, look like garbage and aren’t what most films look like.

Modern movies cut so fast you barely get time to look at the frame. Shot, reverse shot, close-up, cut, repeat, with half the background blurred into oblivion. Older films trusted wider compositions and let actors exist in the same space.
