You can like this design, you can even think its inspiration has depth, but can we please stop kidding ourselves with this assumption that people that don't like it just don't "get it"? At some point we have to accept that these designs are simply polarizing in their execution

People understand the concept, it's really not that genius. It's also just a very visually disappointing design and makes the lack of cohesion between the three ZA starters even more severe.
