'I've been called worse names than that.'
@MarcusRashford reacts to Health Secretary Matt Hancock calling him 'Daniel Rashford' during a TV interview.

The plea @MarcusRashford is making comes from a place of terrible experience. Extending free school meals across the summer isn't just some nice add on; it's vital for millions of children mired in poverty and at risk of going hungry. #maketheUturn
Ok, so the spelling could do with some work, but thank you six year old Abby Ferguson for getting to the heart of the matter a lot more accurately and concisely than many well paid journalists do
Let @MarcusRashford be a constant reminder that it is possible to make a difference. Sad that it needed his campaign to get the government do what was obviously right. But it did. Well done him and his team. Now MPs have to make sure the devil in the detail works!! 1/2
Something clearly very amiss with NO 10 political operation if PM only heard of the FREE SCHOOL MEALS campaign yesterday .What about PPS ,Whips Office ,Spads ,DWP (sayno more) ,and of course EducationDept ? #embarassinglybaddeeplydisappointingforHeavensSakegetagrip
What Boris Johnson said just now at the press conference doesn't corroborate what actually happened yesterday.
He knew about Marcus Rashford's campaign yesterday because he rejected it. He caved because of the outpouring of public pressure.
This is a huge U-turn and welcome news for the 1.3 million children who were at risk of going hungry.
Once again the government has had to be dragged kicking and screaming into doing the right thing.
Abolishing one of our best performing and most important departments diminishes Britain’s place in the world.
This is a poor attempt at distraction from Boris Johnson.
“I don’t claim to have the education of an MP in parliament, but I do have a social education. I’m clued up on the difference a U-turn decision would make on 1.3m vulnerable children registered for free school meals because ten years ago I was one of them” https://t.co/W3gQsd0NmQ
Jesus! @BorisJohnson says he was only aware of the free school meals campaign today. The Tory MP who chairs the education select committee has been on this for weeks. How on earth does this clown fill his day?
So either he has terrible advisors not telling him about something like this, or he just makes it all up as he goes along and doesn’t even care that we all know it’s rubbish
SHORT THREAD: it is no surprise and yet still infuriating that the GB govt is clearly now entertaining allowing chlorine washed chicken on to our shelves. To be clear, the issue here is not the chlorine. The problem is why it's used. 1/

I wish @BorisJohnson all the best, but it does rather illustrate why the herd immunity plan was such a bad idea. All that huddling up at press conferences & shaking hands in hospitals because we thought only the old & sick would get seriously ill. How wrong we were.
So it seems Johnson launched his appeal for British-built ventilators three days before an EU ventilator buying scheme closed and two days after Brussels publicly said Britain was free to join. Hard to square with No. 10 claims of “communication problems” https://t.co/zjhOmb9uM8
Over the last 48 hours I’ve had the need to engage with @NHSEngland staff at @UHSFT and the #ambulance service based at Hythe Hospital . I just want to say . . . superb , brilliant , amazing and thank you so much . We must treasure and sustain our #NHS@NHSMillion
