When people talk about implicit biases, and in particular about how white people still associate negative ideas w/Black folks while claiming to have no bias at all, why is the immediate assumption that racists just don’t know how they feel instead of that they are fucking liars?

Implicit biases are ideas that affect how we treat marginalized people on an unconscious level—which, sure. I believe those exist. And maybe we don’t have to leave the whole term behind. But I really can’t stand how this science is used today.
