Successive Governments have both ignored and let Hospitality down.
Its the UKs 5th biggest sector and the UKs 3rd biggest employer.
Every day our local papers are reporting on the loss of our pubs, restaurants, bars, live music venues etc.
Enough is enough, drastic action needs to happen.
Currently on the way to London, to host a dinner tonight, bringing together organisations and Trade Bodies from every corner of the Night Time Economy.
High on the agenda:
Reduction in VAT
Reverse the NI increase
Review the Reform of Business Rates...it won't help City Centre venues.
To many businesses and jobs are at stake to allow this to carry on.
With over £1 in every £3 going across the bar going directly in taxes, this excessive level of taxation is killing jobs, investment and growth. It can be rapidly reversed, get the backing of your MP 👇🙏 https://t.co/mJMukZK2jT @BIIandBIIAB#OurPub
Our member Phil Thorley (@ThorleyTaverns) spoke to @Telegraph about the impact of last year's Budget, calling it "the worst Budget" he's seen in his 40 years of running a pub.
We need the Gov't to lower business rates, fix NICs and cut VAT. #TaxedOut

Hospitality is the beating heart of our economy and communities, but we’re being #TaxedOut.
We are calling on the Gov't to act in the Budget.
✅Lower business rates
✅Fix NICs
✅Cut VAT
We’re making our voice heard & we need yours too.

Just watched a webinar by @UKHofficial regarding the budget. This will have a £3.5 billion negative impact on #hospitality & @UKLabour want to crow about 1p off draft beer duty for brewers. Please use your local or the same thing will happen to pubs as local shops #gone
Covid lockdowns hit brewers and pub operators especially hard. Throw in the minimum wage rise and many businesses face closure unless something changes ⬇️ https://t.co/JroOrSR6w8
Every single Hospitality venue across the UK is being crucified or closed by untenable energy bills.
Yesterday British Gas posted record profits of £751 million.
10 times the previous year of £72 million.
Anyone else angry? Morning @ofgem.
So today was a good day we hit 1700 signatures. But there is a HELL of a long way to go :)

You think you shared, tagged and posted... DO it again tomorrow.
One post, sees 0.01% signatures, no matter the amount of followers... think on that
Of course if you can get some big swingers involved that helps..

The Government have failed the Hospitality sector.
Failed to help with a VAT reduction.
Failed to get a grip on the big Energy Co's who have leeched off the sector.
Failed to save businesses. Failed to save jobs.
My comments in todays @MENnewsdesk

3-point plan for helping the sector ahead of General Election
👉 Investment: a permanent, lower hospitality rates multiplier
👉 Jobs: double employer NI thresholds
👉 Growth: lower VAT rate for tourism & hospitality
Creating places people want to live, work & grow
The rise in minimum wage is fantastic news for millions and well overdue.
The Govt aren’t giving you this though, businesses are.
Many Hospitality businesses are breaking even/making a loss.
A Spring VAT reduction is now needed more than ever, to offset this increase.
Pubs/Bars drop below 100,000 for the first time ever.
Decline across the UK, with London being the worst.
Only Manchester and Liverpool named as seeing an increase.
Next month, the Chancellor must extend Business Rates Relief and reduce VAT to 12.5%
