Marco Luciano/Garcia platoon? I actually think he has sneaky upside. Full season at AAA then eased into pros as platoon. If he succeeds Cashgod strikes again, if he fails then Cashman can do his favorite thing at deadline, trade for a platoon bat
@MonsieurMatt25@YankeesFanEarl 3-1 count 2 outs RISP ; looks at a hanging splitter and swings out of his ass on a pitch down the middle. Just absolutely no approach. Swing out of your ass no matter the situation hence why he bats .217 and is an automatic K when a pitcher buckles down.
@YankeesFanEarl Here’s the thing earl him putting the ball in play there is risky with 1 out. Could’ve been a DP. Ideally the data says you want to strikeout or walk in this situation. Singles are bad !
And if your argument is that he hasn’t been good for a couple years. Last year away from T-Mobile 730 OPS vs .522 at home. Not exactly pertinent but also has a career 791 and 782 OPS in August/Sept/OCT. in 47 PA at Yankee stadium has a .916 OPS. So it’s probably worth a flier since you can DFA Sanchez and no one would take him.
More so due to seattles ballpark. On the road has 731 ops. Sanchez has a .341 BABIP on an average exit velocity of 81 . Garver has an ISO 30 points higher, 90.6 avg exit velocity & hard hit rate twice as high. His hard hit and FB% are above career totals over 10 years of work. Garver is a far safer bet going forward vs a bullpen catcher getting lucky over 50 plate appearances
If they try to sneak a qualifying offer on Jazz after the Grisham mistake. It’s ok to let overrated baseball players walk. A guy who kinda just sucks in general but has also admitted to an inability to hit in the cold has no reason to be relied on as a starter in New York. Fuck @j_chisholm3
@YankeesFanEarl@ejk666249656 That’s also when the Yankees spent about 50% of revenue on payroll. I forgot the exact number but the Yankees have had largest drop off in payroll to revenue ratio in the entire sport.
You can make the injuries argument with the OF. Missing judge & Bellinger, that’s not an unreasonable OF. I am hoping Jones outplays Grisham and takes the 4th OF come playoffs. Still not talked about enough that Cashman tried to sneak a QO by on him because he thinks he’s a genius. Them expecting Lombard to carry load of the worst 2B,SS,3B,C situation in baseball is hysterical
@forrestjordan11 They still have bottom 10 offensive production at 2B and 3B
They still have the worst catching situation in all of baseball
They added zero relievers
Why do you accept this garbage?
@YankeeSource@ouseygc If there is a season I think Jeffers would be the big fish free agent for Yankees. Then look to the trade market for 2B (Potentially Turang because Judge wants him) outside of that a lot of the roster lineup wise probably already rostered. Think Stanton will be released too.
@TheRealJoeFL65@FungoMLB He’ll probably be released. Yankees only ow him 15 mil next year. Marlin owe the rest of the money. Most likely lockout for entire season anyway
Cashman inherited a dynasty and squandered it. Schilling had his bags packed for NY, Cashman trades a mint for Javier Vasquez instead. Let El Duque and Wells walk out the door. Passed on signing Beltran. Spent real $ on Jaret Wright. These were all obvious blunders at the time
Pretty crazy that our 6,7,8,9 hitters in the playoffs will be Chisholm,Volpe,McMahon,Wells. Just a retarded team. Yankees haven’t had that many automatic outs play in the playoffs since last year
@YankeesMuse Yup . Stanton coming back doesn’t change this team at all unless they plan to platoon rice as well. Only 2 can play at a time. Even at full health we’re looking at a minimum 3 auto outs come October Jazz is an auto out as well
