In FY2026, the City of Boston allocated $1.3 million to nonprofits for immigration legal services. This included $879,265 to 18 organizations for legal defense, consultations, application assistance, and representation in deportation or other proceedings.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has proposed cutting $724,000 or 15% from the veterans budget for FY2027. Boston City Councilors Ed Flynn and Erin Murphy have called the cuts "unconscionable."
