Monday, 10 November, saw the Scottish Fish and Chip Awards held in Glasgow, and what an incredible event it was.

I want to thank Richard and Kate of SwiftOrder, along with many others, for making us feel so welcome and for showing us how an awards event is done in Scotland. It was fantastic to see so many young people get involved and take great pride in what they do.

The passion in that room was unmistakable. It was a true celebration of Scotland’s thriving fish and chip community, and it reminded me once again how important it is to keep supporting and recognising the incredible people behind these shops. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists.

Thrilled to be invited by Austen Dack of Chippy Chat to the Isle of Ely Open Day, where I joined some of the biggest names in the fish and chip industry, tasted chips from a brand-new potato variety, and enjoyed them with Norwegian Saithe goujons, cooked to perfection in lovely light batter and served by the brilliant Countried Fried mobile chippy.
