Roadmap for this scoring project:
-Continue scoring chains
-Continue updating methodology (more to come)
-Create a website to track scoring and better documentation
If you have a chain you want scored let me know. Next one is probably $XRP because I'm very curious.
First coloredsky score™ leaderboard is live. 5 chains ranked on pure fundamentals. No price targets, no vibes.
#1 $BTC · 84
#1 $ETH · 84
#3 $SOL · 81
#4 $SUI · 74
#5 $CC · 65
Three Institutional Grade. Two Emerging Institutional. Zero High Risk.
The tie at the top is real. Different strengths, same composite. BTC wins on tokenomics and TradFi depth. ETH wins on developer ecosystem and real-world utility. The framework doesn't care about narratives.

Methodology note: All five chains are now scored under v1.1.
$BTC, $SOL, and $CC were originally scored under v1.0. When we updated the framework, we went back and applied v1.1 to all previously scored chains.
The only score that changed was $BTC: 82 → 84. The v1.1 quantum resistance gate cap moved from 82 to 88, which freed BTC's raw score.
$SOL and $CC were unaffected. SOL's gates all pass, and CC's binding cap is regulatory, not quantum.
Original v1.0 posts remain on the timeline as historical record.
$ETH lands at 84. That ties it with Bitcoin under the current framework (more on that later) and puts it 3 points above Solana.
The institutional depth is undeniable. But I have real questions about whether a chain that needs Layer 2s to function for everyday users is the right design going forward. Those L2s have their own security and centralization problems that sit outside this score entirely.
For now, the fundamentals are strong. The architecture debate is a longer conversation.
Rankings after 5 chains: 84 BTC / 84 ETH / 81 SOL / 74 SUI / 65 CC

@nicrypto Most normies don't even know their Samsung phone runs android. Normies have no idea how money from their paycheck gets to their bank account. Likely select crypto rails replace all background transactions. I think institutions might matter more than retail imo.
$SUI scores 74/100 on the coloredsky score.
Strong fundamentals across the board: 3 spot ETFs live, CME futures listed, $1T in cumulative stablecoin volume since Aug '25. Mysticeti v2 consensus is best-in-class technical performance.
Held back by modest fee economics (~$1.8M annualized), the May '25 Cetus freeze precedent, and a Quantum Resistance cap at 88. Strongest "Partial" on the quantum gate of any chain we've scored — the cryptographic agility is real, just not deployed yet.
Emerging Institutional tier. High ceiling.

Market's bled out this week. Sentiment's awful.
That's the point of a fundamentals-first score. It ignores price and grades what's actually real. Bear markets reveal who was running on narrative.
The rebound is the test. $ETH score next. #coloredskyscore
Tradfi needs privacy in their transactions. They want the speed and throughput of high performance crypto chains, but they don't want all details publicly visible. In 5 years I'd imagine all transactions will be through crypto rails as they mature. But not all will survive.
The $SUI bull case in one sentence:
A 3-year-old chain with 3 spot ETFs, CME futures, Coinbase, $1T in stablecoin volume, gasless transfers shipped last week, and a research team that built the Move language. That ships faster than the regulatory environment can label it.
The bear case in one sentence:
~$1.8M annualized fees on $4B mcap, 60% of supply still to unlock, single-client risk that materialized as a 6-hour outage in January, and a validator freeze precedent the community is still debating.
The honest read:
74/100. Emerging Institutional. SUI built the infrastructure first and is now waiting for the flow. Ceiling is high — if Mysten ships PQC, a second client, and a Visa-tier production partner, this is an 80+ chain next year. If the fee economics stay where they are, it stays in the mid-70s.
Framework-first. Reality not aspirations.

$SUI category breakdown — where it wins, where it doesn't:
🟢 Regulatory & Risk: 84 — ETFs + CME + zero enforcement
🟢 Real-World Utility: 80 — $1T stablecoin volume, 9+ verticals live
🟡 On-Chain Health: 68 — sub-cent fees but $1.8M annualized revenue is the drag
🟠 Decentralization: 48 — Cetus freeze precedent is real
The story: institutional plumbing is built, ceiling is high, waiting for volume to fill the pipes.
