Not sure if the people wanting a wealth tax want one because they want wealthy people to be less wealthy or if they think that the government will somehow use it to improve their lives, both of which would backfire
Palantir CEO Alex Karp on the Wealth Tax:
โ"It just punishes."
"It starts with the billionaires."
"Every single person at this table is going to be paying a wealth tax only to punish us."
"And the reason for it isโthese models have been completely, irresponsibly oversold."
"โAnd the sell is, 'It's dangerous for everyoneโwhich is why I can give it to all your adversaries, but I can't give it to the Department of War."
"Or, I can't safely give it to an enterprise in this country without being certain that the alpha of that business could transfer to this model tomorrow."
"At every single enterprise I deal with, these people are livid."
"They're like, 'I'm paying for tokens that create no value. These people are stealing the weights and alpha of my business, and they're creating a wealth tax that does not help the poor."

Did you read the article? They point out that not all jailbreaks reach full capability (even if the jailbreak succeeds). Thus, even though on principle, mythos has advanced cybersec capabilities, the reported jailbreaks only reached levels similar to those reachable by other models.
@0xRuzy People are a lot more divided now. I think billionaires would still invest in libraries and parks if we had a stronger sense of unity / shared identity.
@growing_daniel I refuse to believe that their just didn't fuck up the wording. I'm going to assume they meant that _some_ of your routine coding tasks will revert to Opus 4.8
So let me get this straight. You promise your customers Fable 5 access till June 22 with their subscriptions. Due to your own negligence, the model was revoked on June 12 (at which point users still had 10 days left), and now, instead of making it up to your users, you cut it down to 7 days and half their usage? Why tf are you punishing your users?
@pronounced_kyle I mean if the ink is subsidized vs other type of inks, then paying for the subscription makes sense. Fundamentally obviously messed up but I get the business model.
