There’s been no realignment. They’re simply moving their pieces to the section of the checkers board that makes the most sense. Thinking otherwise presumes some imaginary altruistic billionaire class who are suddenly transformed. They’re not. They’re who they’ve been all along.
1/ Trump 2.0 realignment? Seems like the Silicon Valley overlords Trump villainized in his first term are fully in the fold now. Elon Musk may be the most prominent, but Zuck dined recently at Mar-a-Lago, Bezos is “optimistic” about the new term, and Trump’s Crypto & AI Czar David Sacks is a longtime creature of the Silicon Valley tech world…
Lost many inhibitions throughout the past week because I slept very little, so I spent the day being angry in Hebrew at some of my infuriatingly smug countrymen (the smug ones are worse than the overt Fascists). It was good to get angry after a long time I refrained from doing so. My thought: let off steam once in a while. Reclaim public space for a bit. Still, don't get sucked in. Don't wallow. All they want is for you to waste your breath on endless drivel meant to distract and disrupt. Your time and mental faculties are worth much, much more. Spread the good, right word. Be clear. Be intelligible. Be coherent and accessible. F- them and the horse they rode in on.
I’ve learned a lot from Jessica (formerly Brian) on the budget and will continue to do so. If she says she’s happy, that’s all that matters, and I’ll continue to judge her by her work.
@ClimateHuman Could one make an argument for a similar exodus (like you made from LA) is also warranted in the mid-Atlantic states, except bc of hurricanes, not wildfires?
See how Democrats and Republicans and Trumpers work together? This is the bipartisanship Biden constantly brags about. This explains why Biden let Trump skate and welcomed him to a rematch. They belong to the same ruling class. It’s really just one big political party.
Any villainizing they did heretofore was performative & a calculated hedge signaling their preferred public facing liberal aesthetic. They would have “preferred” the branding & image of working w/kamala. But in the end—it’s all functionally the same in terms of the relationship

The decision against Prahlad Iyengar is a major blow to free speech everywhere. MIT's admin is so deeply connected to the war profiteers that it cannot tolerate pro-Palestinian speech. This sets tone for further attacks to speech coming under Trump.
Germany announced a €23 million ($24.2 million) grant to support municipalities in Palestine through the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF) to improve roads, water and waste management, and provide emergency aid amid the ongoing crisis, WAFA reported.
