2014 - 2019: Started saving like crazy. I turned into Everybody Hates Chris's dad. π€πΏ
Now I'm a little better. π€·πΏββοΈ
#2020NewYear my goal is to have R1 000 worth of dividends every month. Which is unlikely to happen but I want to challenge myself. π€Ί

how does this play out?
ASG inject cash into the vehicle on day 1, for the next 54 months they get paid out of the vehicle's profits
AND they enjoy the upside of profit-sharing... the kicker? they rank ABOVE SA rugby in the event of liquidation
it's an insane structure
Across the years SARU has reported terrible financial performance (R33m loss in 2017, R23m loss in 2016) so this is not new
underperforming entities tend to view private equity as a magic pill to cure financial woes - but terrible deals (like this one) leave you far worse off
so how does SARU burn through all this cash & still end up generating losses?
the largest operating expense is titled "rugby" - a masterclass in terrible accounting
The CEO office costs R33m & salaries are over R330m... while "strategic performance management" costs R26.5m
Rabada banned for celevrating a wicket, never gave the batsman the send off. India's Kohli almost everytime runs towards umpire appealing aggressively, abuse opposition players and has given many send offs, ICC gave him spirit of cricket award instead of match ban. ππ€¦ββοΈ@ICC
Congratulations to πthe matrix of 2019π and for those who didn't make it, it is not the end. πΊπΈ
Take a moment, take a deep breath and let's plan for the future, pass or fail.

@millennialmoney Being able to walk away from a job when I feel I've had enough and being able to go back to work whenever I want and not because I have to. That is financial freedom in my eyes. π

@casspernyovest Buying a car cash/financing depends on the person's situation. It's important to consider the
1.opportunity cost
2. Interest rate
3. Income
4. Taste
Personally I prefer second-βπΏ, paying in cash & a small car (with good fuel economy β½).
Someone else might feel different. π€·πΏββοΈ
My mom saves R5 coins & puts them in a mayonnaise jar, cashes them in at the end of every year.
Makes me count them of course.π€£
But now I told her we need to #levelup after I saw @__singila's coin collection, inspiredπ.
